9 moHuge, about 10 feet under the ground. Solid concrete about a foot thick reinforced with plenty of rebar. Probably on the side of a hill so it's under ground but surrounded by 1 inch gravel. That way if any water would be able to drain right through the gravel and out the side of the hill like a natural spring would. I'd want a geo thermal power source near by to keep it constantly supplied with electricity. Multiple entrances / exits an entire work shop with an over head crane for all my old trucks and tractors. A lathe, a massive supply of tools. Huge stores of spare parts for everything. Enough equipment and supplies to go out and build 10 more structures just like it any where I could if I chose to. I'd want a complete weight room and a pool as well. I'd build it somewhere on the Mojave desert and no on would know it was even there. People could walk right over the top of it and not have a clue. Since it's a dream, I'd also want tunnels that went for hundreds of miles in various directions and that came up in very remote arias where no one would ever have a clue. The tunnels would have train tracks in them so you could haul vehicles down them with little electric locomotives so you don't choke on exhaust or stain the tunnel up with smoke. Something that Dr Evil would like only I'd call myself Dr Indifferent.

As for me I live in a hurricane prone area so I would build a home like the one above to withstand all kinds of weather. Also I would add a few radio telescopes & radio towers.

In addition I would add a building with a telescope so I can look at the stars too.

I can also picture a chalet in the mountains, right in the middle of mountains and with waterfalls below. Japan.

Somewhere I could hunt and fish and try my hand at farming ( growing my own stuff to eat, maybe sell the excess at a market or something ).
As for what it would look like something along these lines probably.

American motherfuckers need to stop building their houses from wood. Never hear the story of three little piggies?

9 moIf I could build my dream house, it would sit on a quiet hill overlooking the ocean, with big windows to catch the sunrise and sunset.
It would have an open, airy layout with warm wood floors, lots of plants, and a cozy library with a fireplace.
Outside, there’d be a big porch, a vegetable garden, and a little path leading down to the beach.10 Reply
9 moSome place that has perfect weather. Not too hot or too cold. Probably in heaven. It would be next to the ocean, if there is an ocean in heaven. Of course in heaven, there might not be a need for a house. Maybe we will all sleep out under the stars. That is if there is stars in heaven.

@mysteriousN Well I am off a farm and liked growing plants from a child. Tree ferns are a fav. Doing the best I can with a balcony.
There is a great conservatory in the local park. Have Christmas lunch in it. Fortunately nobody else has thought of it.
Couldn't find your choice of housing. So what would you like? .
