Have you ever thrown something out or given something away to someone and then regretted it later?

I did that and now I wish I hadn't. I write ✍️ poetry and have since before the 70's. I had a folder I've kept all of these many years and threw the folder with my poetry inside into the trash can last year. It was done impulsively and I guess I thought I just couldn't keep them forever. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Maybe it was something you could have left to future generations, if there is any direct generation within your family.

Did you feel it was too personal for someone to read it?

I wouldn't have any future generations to leave them to, but that's a great idea!
No, they weren't too personal for anyone to read, they were old and mostly about my husband who abandoned our marriage for another girl.
I do still have a notebook and it has my more recent poems in it.

Yes. My situation is similar to yours. I used to write poems and other pieces, but I threw the notebook with them in the bin because it reminded me of difficult times. Now, I regret that decision.

I have been throwing stuff out over the last year or so. I have been accumulating stuff for the last 25 years and I need to staet weeding out the stuff I do not use anymore. I really cannot think of snything thst I threw out that I regret it.
