Have you ever thrown something away inadvertently? Did you get it back or was it lost forever?

I’ve thrown away sunglasses that I took off just before throwing out the trash. I held them loosely in one hand. They went down the container.

I’ve thrown away the car key when getting rid of some card board boxes. I realized it half an hour later and luckily it was still there.

I’ve thrown away a broken vase we kept for too many years, only to realize afterwards they held the only key to my motorcycle.

I don’t remember the exact objects. But I’ve definitely did that before.

I know one was a valuable or money I was going to use going out to the store and luckily I remembered, checked, and found. All I remember was my crazed reaction to finding a valuable in the trash cause whatever it was I would never throw away. Not in a million years lol.

It felt like I had blasphemed god or did something illegal. Like tossing family ashes or urn in the trash. Just crazy to find it there lol

Yes it definitely has happened. I accidentally threw away a hat I had made. Lost forever.
