Have you ever had an encounter with a ghost?

I was laying in bed the other night and I heard the door to the house open then close. Then clearly heard someone walking up the stairs. Assuming it was my mom or dad I didn’t think anything of it. After a while I didn’t hear anything so went to see what they were doing and the house was empty. Freaky AF.

When I moved into my older home (alone) I would hear subtle noises at night. Doors latching (not slamming), things shifting in other rooms.

I bought the house from a 99(!) year old man (Mr. Copeland) who was headed for assisted care and lived another 2 years. His wife had died a few years before. Those noises continued about 2 years after I moved in. I would sometimes say: "Hello Mrs. Copeland" even after I was with my wife. She is Asian/Catholic and tolerant of the prospect of ghosts.

Then I saw Mr. Copeland's Obituary in the paper. I then realized the noises had stopped. Was she waiting in the house for her Husband to join her in Purgatory?

I have a similar story as such. This was back in my country, India. I was in our family prayer room one day and I knew everyone was sitting in the living room. But, someone hit me with a ring (tennikoitring) on my head. I was scared as fuck lol. I still am not sure who did that. No one was in the room except me though.

I lived in a haunted house for 18 months, complete with footsteps, moving furniture, doors opening and closing, and random cold spots despite the ducted heating. I never saw a ghost, but the presence was always there.

Shortly after my dad died my wife, brother and I heard the same sounds while we were clearing out my dad's house but at different times. We heard the front door open, someone come up the stairs and go into the kitchen. Then the footsteps went to the hall closet, open the door then close it and then went to the bathroom. This was the routine that my dad had every night when he came home from work. This also happened at the same time that my dad usually came home from work. This happened on 3 separate occasions when each of us were alone in the house.

As for me I like things that are strange, unusual & most of all unexplained things. As for ghostly encounters back in the day I had a paranormal group & yes encounters did happen & before the group as well. On the flip side maybe my imaginary friends or your imaginary friends messing with me & those weren’t really ghosts.

I experienced many things like this through life, I've never clearly seen anything but weird stuff has happened. For example, it was late and I was just about to fall asleep laying in bed when I heard the draw in the kitchen with all the cutlery opening and closing. It would open and slam shut really hard 4 times I believe it was? I know it was that draw because you could hear the metal cuttley clanging around as the draw slammed shut. I got up, instantly went into my sister and parents room to make sure it wasn't them and they were in bed. I asked are you asleep and my mother and sister responded why are you banging in the kitchen, I said it wasn't me. That was the first time they heard what I heard as I complained many times especially as a child and no one believed me!
