I think that, next year, when I am well settled into my new house, I will host a costume party for Halloween. But I haven't gone out for Halloween in many years. . . decades.

For over 10 years, we knew a couple that lived where everyone on the street decorated their houses. Some of the decorations were elaborate. Because of that, there was a LOT of trick or treat traffic.
Our friends had a party every year, had sloppy Joes, lots of snacks, wine and booze, and turned on a radio station that played all Halloween music.
All of the guests dressed in costumes and brought candy to hand out.
Close to 1000 trick or treaters would come to the door throughout the night. It was really fun.
That ended in 2020 with the covid hysteria.

For about 15 years, some other friends of ours would have a karaoke party at their house near Halloween but not on Halloween night. All the guests wore costumes. Those were fun parties but they, too, ended with the covid madness.

My wife and I live up a windy 1/2 mile long driveway through gnarled oaks on 30 acres in a rural area. We get zero trick or treaters. The vampires, werewolves, ax murders and zombies would get them before they made it to our house.
So we haven't done anything for Halloween in 6 years.

I'm staying in Halloween, and for good reason 😨

You might think it's a time for fun and celebration.

But it's a time when the barrier between the world's of the living, and the dead is at it's thinnest.

Ghost of the dead can much easily return, and they won't take kindly to us making fun of them.

Are you prepared to find out what powers the spooks of the past have at their disposal?

I'm frightened, and I'm staying at home, hoping this evil time passes me by unharmed.

I don't like Halloween. Why is this such famous?

It is beg for sweets. In Germany kids want to have money sometimes. I don't like that trend coming up from the States.

It is just to grab as much as you can and has not s specific reason, in Germany. For most people I guess. So I am out.

We don't really celebrate Halloween in many most areas in my country because Christians are a big minority. So in my locality obviously no one celebrates Halloween though I would love to celebrate it once if I'm get in a college abroad.
