Some of the greatest achievers in history started late in life:

Liu Bang started a rebellion at 50 and founded the Han Dynasty.

Huang Zhong led troops into battle at 60.

Jiang Ziya was discovered at 80 while fishing and helped build the Zhou Dynasty.

Colonel Sanders founded KFC at 65.

Ray Kroc expanded McDonald’s at 52.

Churchill became Prime Minister at 65.

It makes me think — maybe age is just a number, and determination never expires.

No, it doesn't.

Timing can certainly enter into things. It's what the individual does when the timing is AGAINST them that can turn a losing situation into a success. Strategy is critical. Kroc made his initial "success" by requiring a certain number of Multi-mixers to be used at each burger stand, kind of a sideways segue into the franchising concept. I'm still a darn good Massage Therapist and I'm well into my 70's, after 32 years of working at it.

Success is every time you set yourself a goal and strategically work towards it. It doesn't need to be something extreme like founding a globally successful fast food chain. I think That's a sort of morbidly extreme idea of success.

Those are all people from long in the past. In today's world you have to be well on your way in your 20s. You might end up the head of a large company in your 60s but you have to have a substantial track record over the 40 years leading up to that. People who do that usually have made it big by their 30s or 40s. The rest just go through normal jobs until their retirement.

Yes. I’d say overall a person wouldn’t completely change their personality later in life and result in a huge success. There are outliers but most successful people young
