To be foolish vs being the fool. Which one would you prefer and why?

Being the fool, for it would be delicious to fall in Love,

if it's a failed relationship, Oh to be Stranded - "exposing myself to censure of the world for caprice and to breath with derision for disappointed hopes, involving myself in misery of the acutest kind?"

if it's a successful relationship, Oh to drown - " fighting against my better judgment, my family's expectations, the our social differences, my rank and circumstance. All these things I willingly put aside, taking an arrow to knee I beg to ask her to end my agony with her LOVE!"

If it's a play on words and being the fool refers to being a jokester, then I'd being being the fool. Why would anyone want to be foolish? 😂

Yet they both can end up being costly. Foolish in a funny way like soaping windows or toilet paper a tree.

Being a fool is making an act into something beyond a small prank that lands you in trouble with the law.
