Think about it, British money is called pound 'gbp' or quid, so having an l symbol, makes no sense there is no letter "L" in pound?

It is called sterling that has l but better its first letter s oh no! that is used $ but if sterling would have been $ in 1770,

then later dollar would be d but British did not choose s $ neither for s=silver nor s=sterling nor p pound nor cent c for pence, despite 100 pence are one quid should be c like century and centimeter. .. but this name quid or a friggin' letter L that is crazy horrible why do they use l?

The cent doesn't work because 55 years ago the pound was still shillings and pence which were 20s to the pound and 12d to the shilling so 240 pence but that was d from the Latin origin but the pound was the Libra and represented by and L so it used to be write as £sd or Lsd
