Why a guy at work always try’s to speak to me in Spanish at least few phrases a day?

I asked him one day when he greeted me in Spanish again do I look Hispanic to you? He was like I Greet everyone in Spanish who I talk with I was like oh okay , than later on the same day he was like so can I still greet in you in Spanish I was like yea, than he asked something I said what’s up he answered in Spanish again … can’t read his mind but why does he feel like he need to speak to me in Spanish I don’t hear him doing that with anyone else really unless they are Hispanic

Maybe he is trying to broaden your horizons, trying to teach you a bit about his own language even though you are trying to get better at English, since English is not your first language he is probably feeling like his first language is being left out
