What if summer never returns?

Question

When I worked in sales I had a slack season right after the holidays that lasted until the beginning of April. I used to worry that the business would never come back. Instead of taking a vacation or work on expanding the company I went out and visited my customers anyway just to keep the connection.

It has been a tough winter so far and it will be unusually cold for at least the next week. What happens if summer never returns?

I'm wondering if the sun will return. This winter, where I live in California, we have had more cloudy, overcast and foggy days than I can remember. It has been kind of surreal.

But at least we haven't had snow storms, blizzards or below freezing weather at our house. That would be truly surreal, given that it has never snowed at our house and there have only been a few occasions over the past 24 years when the temp dropped below 30° at night.

The summer never returns, and that means that either the sun was somehow extinguished or the Earth stopped rotating. Either way, we are going to have much bigger problems than the summer not returning if that happens.

Don't worry it will be here soon enough. We have at least another 3 months of winter here. Summer usually come back up here some time between June & August.

I don't think slacks returned.. Probably ran off with Sears and Montgomery Ward. Anyway summer shall return in about the same form of years before, just like this current winter.
