Is it sad to see summer go?

Every year I always wind up asking "where did the summer go?"

You bet it is!!!

Both Spring and Summer - either is the correct answer. In fact, if the universe were just and merciful, and man was not being punished for his sins, the year would begin on April 1 and end on August 31. Fall and Winter being the penalty Adam must endure because he ate of the Fruit of the Tree.

Long days, beautiful flowers, pretty girls on the beach, the splendid fireworks display that come with a thunderstorm, the sounds of crickets filling the night, backyard Bar-b-q's, the smell of freshly cut grass, Easter Sunday - my favorite holiday, visits by the ice cream man, the rush you get from plunging into the pool on a sweltering day, beautiful long sunsets, the sight of dew glistening on the lawn in the morning light, walks in the park... the list goes on.

Keep your dreary dark - and short - days. Keep your bone chilling cold. Keep the icy roads as you risk life and limb getting to work.

Oh, and Fall? Those pretty colored leaves? They're dead. That's they look that way. The days get shorter as all hope is lost.

So put me down for Spring or Summer. Oh, and as you can tell, I don't have especially strong views on this one.

Not a single bit, I live in southeast Louisiana, seeing summer go is a blessing. Even when it gets to winter it might mean a couple months of turning on the heat. I can finally set all my debris on fire without worrying about the yard going up with it.

Every summer is brutal down here. Also bow hunting season started today. Granted I prefer to hunt pigs as you can just ask most people with property if they've been around and they're happy to let you blast them away and it doesn't require any tags or license. I'll have to look up duck season, one of my neighbors just got a high speed low drag flat boat.

Summer? Somehow we didn't get the heat wave we heard so much about. We barely spent time outside compared to past summers because it was chilly or rainy. I'm still waiting for summer to get here. 🌧

Joni Mitchell is still active and giving concerts. My wife and her friend went to one a few months ago.

I'm not sad to see Summer go. It was way too hot. Looking forward to some cooler weather. Not sure why, but it was 93 here today... too hot for end of September and start of Autumn/Fall.

I absolutely hate seeing summer go, even though my post-heart attack body now has difficulty with heat.

I enjoy summer nights out at my swimming pool when the nighttime temps are in the 80s.

They've been in the 60s mostly for some weeks now, although the last few nights have afforded me opportunities to moon-bathe with the temps being in the 70s.
