Why are humans so drawn to power?

I think people are drawn to it for different reasons. I think some have sociopathic narcissistic traits that make them feel entitled to everything at the cost of everyone else. I also think some people are drawn to power out of fear of not being in control of everything. Power is a way to feel in control.

I believe there are also some that say I want to be in power to make the world better but I'm not sure if many people are like that anymore.

Power means you can influence the world around you, and aren't as susceptible to someone else influencing your own.
