Oh I have all the usual kneejerk reactions... deny, disown, evade. But I've learned over time to get past all of that relatively quickly by sitting down in front of the metaphorical "mirror" for a little self reflection. I've learned to keep people around me who will tell me those uncomfortable truths. And they in turn are people who keep me around for the same reasons. I accept that I can fuck up from time to time and those people who tell me the uncomfortable truth are not my enemies. They are my real friends. And accepting the uncomfortable truth is ultimately far better for me than sticking my head in the sand and denying my screw ups.

I think I'm pretty bad at being on the receiving end because I think I'm in the right most of the time. I don't have any issues taking a hard look in the mirror though. When someone does give me solid advice (mostly my best friend), I take it with a grain of salt appreciatively.

I value that shit a lot and it reflects on my choices on the people who are close to me.
They don't sugar-coat shit to make me feel better.
In fact in cases that my perspective can be flawed and restricted, I am open to changing it if the facts they present are more grounded and based on reality than mine. I have no issue admitting that I am wrong.

I guess I am good at it considering I experienced a lot in life , to the point nothing really seems to phase me much anymore , unless it was something completely insane that I never witnessed or experienced before , but other than that, I consider myself an honest person , so I appreciate honesty , even if the truth hurts
