It's Friday 13th Next Week, Perhaps It Might Not Be As Unlucky As People Think, What is Your Opinion?

This was the last Friday 13th for these lucky workers.

Their Chinese boss handed out £20 million in bonuses by allowing them to take home as many banknotes as they could count in a set time.

In total 800 tables for 8000 people was set up, for the workers of a Chinese company that made £30 million in profit last year.

I don't plan anything on Friday 13th, just to be on the safe side.

What is your opinion on Friday 13th?

A. I don't want to temp fate, I don't do anything important on Friday 13th.

B. Friday 13th doesn't worry me one bit.

C. Something else.

Did you know every year there is at least one Friday 13th, with 1 or 2 being typical.

But in 2026 there will be three Friday 13th's, and that it's slightly more likely the 13th of a month will fall on a Friday than any other day.

Friday the 13th never bothered me - that is until Friday, February 13, 1999!!

On that Friday the 13th, I received a telephone call from a hospital 🏥 in another city where my learning disabled son was being cared for in a group home because I had to go to work. The call came to me at 8:30 PM.

The nurse told me that I had to go to the emergency room right away and that my son was in grave condition with bacterial meningitis.

I got in my car and drove beyond the speed limit (Mom's can do that when their child is so sick) and arrived at the hospital around 9 PM.

The emergency room doctor told me that my son's organs were shutting down and he was dying.

I just fell forward onto the doctors chest and started to cry and kept saying no no, not my son!!

Then I went over to see my son and I couldn't even look at him in the eye because he didn't know he was dying, but I did and I wasn't going to be the one to tell him.

Long story short - he also had blood poisoning, a heart infection, double pneumonia, and had to have emergency open heart surgery.

He was in the hospital for 76 days and had a 6 month recovery.

It wasn't until a year later that my son remembered something very important. The guy who was caring for him had terrible anger issues and was mad at someone else but stabbed my son in his spine and he had the scars to prove it. I'm pretty sure that's what started the cascade of other health problems.

Today he is 47 years old now and alive and doing okay.

So now I am weary of Friday the 13th.

2026 is one of those unique years where we have two Friday the 13ths in consecutive months. February 13 was a normal Friday. I expect March 13 to be similar.
