Ostara is the equivalent of Spring Equinox but just done up in true Pagan style where we worship the Pagan Goddess of Dawn, Eostre, by summoning the spirit of Dionysus and proceeding to have a 3 day drunken orgy fest in the forest while making ritual sacrifices of virgin Faeries and stuff. It's fun. (<--- This is how rumors of Pagans got started in the olde days and led to the kindly Christians killing an estimated 40,000–60,000 "Witches" during "The Great Hunt" between 1560 and 1630.)

And now the only question is, Whatever should I wear for Ostara?

Ty for all the awesome suggestions but I ended up having to dress warm 'cuz it friggen' snowed 2 friggen' inches! So much for the first day of Spring! 🤣

And I didn't mean to offend all the christians I offended. I'm just glad they don't allow burning at the stake anymore!

This actually connects to something fascinating I learned in my anthropology class. The witch trial hysteria wasn’t just a case of ignorant peasants. Governments and churches actually helped manufacture the whole witch narrative as a distraction.
The idea is that when things were going badly, bad harvests, disease, poverty the government needed someone to blame. Governments pushed the witch narrative so that people would blame mysterious evil forces instead of pointing the finger at the people actually in power. It was basically a scapegoating strategy to protect themselves.

Before this got systematized, folk magic and wise women were generally tolerated or even respected in communities. But the Malleus Maleficarum (1487) (essentially an official witch-hunting manual) helped codify what a “witch” was supposed to be, giving governments a legal and moral framework to point people’s anger and fear in a completely different direction.
And the property seizure aspect made it even more appealing for officials, accusers could claim the convicted woman’s house and belongings after execution. So it was a two-for-one deal: deflect blame AND make money off of it.
Torture was sanctioned to extract confessions, which “proved” witches were real, which justified more accusations. It became totally self-reinforcing and governments had every reason to keep it going.

Jesus never ordered humans to hurt others or killing them, you have a problem with humans who claimed to be christians and killed these pagan witches because they thought that they were demons, in the dark ages that was the people's brains limits when they didn't have an explanation for an unknown case, plus they have used the religion the way it suits them, do you really believe that true christians are able to commit such horrible acts 🤔

Christianity is all about love and forgiveness, plus respecting other people's choices in life, when you look at jesus you will see that he gave everyone the freedom of choice, you can have faith in him if you want and refuse it if you don't want to, that's what matters!

Than a freak comes and tells you, if you don't believe in this and that than you're going to be executed, than he claims that he's a christian to give excuse to his action and when he was asked why? He said because they were demons just to make others think that he did the right thing and give excuse to his action, while none of it is true!

These guys will suffer in hell because they did terrible acts under the name of Jesus!

but Sacrifice issue was a reality in ancient pagan rituels. (I think it was transformed into Christianity from pagan religions too.) by the way there is not only sacrifice. You can see lots of things belong to pagan beliefs in this movie. It is one of my most favourite horror movies 😊
