My 3 year old nephew has been collecting them what do you think of them

Kinder belongs to Ferrero and they use a lot E476 in their products that is according to newer studies carcinogenic and cocoa can contain a lot of cadmium, mercury and lead since it comes from different plantations in third world. Those heavy metals even in smallest doses can have very bad influence on brain development of children.
I wouldn't let my child eat chocolate those figures are packed in.

They are only worth it if you or the person collecting them thinks so. It really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

You can collect anything you want. Most people collect things that they like and enjoy. Others collect things for their monetary value.

If your nephew likes them, and apparently does, let him collect them. Will they be valuable in the future? Probably not, but one never knows.
