Why can people who know me so easily track me online and deanonymize me?

Because there are so many websites out there designed to track and spy on people. I even did a search on myself on one such website and found pictures of me I don't even have anymore. Some of the photos go back 14 years. Once you post something online, it is there forever. It is disturbing.

People who know you can deanonymize you because you leave “behavioral fingerprints”: same writing style, same interests, similar usernames, same hobbies, same opinions, same time zone, same platforms. They connect dots.

If you really want anonymity, change your style, topics, usernames, and avoid sharing personal details. You’re consistent… and that’s adorable, but not anonymous 😏
