Our dorm suite’s bathroom has a double vanity this year, which is a massive upgrade. Next year, we are applying for a campus owned apartment.

If we get it, we all get our own bedroom. 😭

We had ONE sink and small vanity in the bathroom. NO bathroom toilet stall. Like those divider things. We have one in this building. Shower this year and last is pretty much the same. Not bad.

The apartments have a double vanity that’s outside of the bathroom. I might cry seeing that the first time. 😭

That sounds better. But hearing this I'm really really grateful that colleges I applied to have one or maximum 2 person per room and in most cases, with attached bathrooms.

That’s super nice. Here, if you are in the traditional type dorm with just two students, they don’t have attached bathrooms. There is a bathroom for the hall (gender specific halls).

They aren’t bad. I’ve seen a few in different buildings friends live in. I prefer the private bathroom even if we all have to share.

Do they just assign you random people in first year as your roommates or you get to choose?

It’s random. You get assigned one roommate. Then the two of you can choose to be in a standard room or sign up for a suite, which is a lottery.

Emily was my randomly assigned roommate the first year. We got to talk and exchange info over the summer before the fall semester started. We agreed we would try for a suite.

We got it and got paired with Ava and Taylor. Taylor THE swift, as @SueShe calls her XD. We all got along so well the first year, we signed up to be together for this year.

Groups that stick together get priority because the school prioritizes those that are known to get along and won’t want to switch and cause a mess.
