Mom embarrassing me as punishment?

Hello I am not sure if this is correct website to ask but here it goes.

My mom and I don't have the best relationship. And lately she's been using a punishment that really gets to me whenever she decides I'm "misbehaving". She knows I am super shy about being seen barefoot so she makes me go barefoot at home until she decides I've "learned my lesson". I have to remove my shoes and socks before entering home from school, no slippers, until I leave. She won’t even let me hide in my room, like I have to do my homework at the kitchen counter where everyone can see. My brother thinks it’s hilarious and teases me nonstop every time he walks by. Worst of all, She makes sure I'm around whenever we have guests, making me greet them or do chores barefoot in front of everyone. I absolutely hate it and find it so embarrassing.

isn't this sort of punishment like illegal or something. Do I really have no choice but to behave exactly as she wants to avoid it?

You have as much control of this situation as she does start putting your feet on the table and fidgeting with your toes start and make yourself not care if you’re barefoot around the house and then flaunt your feet when ever possible anytime someone does something expecting a certain reaction it makes them happy when they get that reaction “ you being embarrassed by your feet “ … or anything else and they hate when they can’t get the reaction they want this applies to people screwing with you at school and crap it never really changes they just get older they usually stay the same snotty nosed kid after they are 70 or so they eventually even go back to wetting their pants stay strong this is a really weird punishment in my opinion but you can work it … paint your toenails so it will look like you are accepting your feet and you are liking them if your brother says anything about your feet trying to make you feel bad tell him that you have beautiful feet and someday men will be kissing them trust me when someone tries to make you mad don’t ever let them see it and it will backfire on them be happy life is too short to not be happy

hmm you're saying I should pretend to not be embarrassed. That's very interesting but not easy to do for me. I definitely can't put my feet on the table that is too much... Any other things I can do that might be easier? to fake not being effected... Thanks a lot for your answer by the way...

Yes I understand it will not be easy just like when people are being butt holes at school it’s hard to act like their stupidity doesn’t bother you it will probably take you a little time but that would probably be normal for anyone uncomfortable with something to get comfortable with something that makes them uncomfortable get you a couple toe rings to wear and if you are confronted by any company that comes over make sure you put your game face on for them because they are the ones who this someone is hoping to embarrass you most with I really think this embarrassment you are having is kind of funny as long as your feet look somewhat normal and not like a baboons feet then you have no reason to be embarrassed by them you will find in time that there will be guys that will want to hold and rub your feet when you get older lol I’m not sure what else to say other than you really shouldn’t be embarrassed by your feet we don’t see ourselves the same as anyone else does we generally nit pick everything that is not perfect in our minds when it comes to looking at ourselves we are our worst critics might could get you a wash cloth and carry it around with you when you are walking around the house and use it for wiping your feet off regularly if anybody asks why you keep wiping your feet tell them you don’t like that stuff off the floor getting on them something you would not have to put up with if you were wearing socks 🤷‍♂️ I can’t stand not wearing socks myself it’s not because I am concerned with what my feet look like it’s because they get cold and I can’t stand to step on anything the smallest pebble hurts like hell when I step on them I hope you are able to adjust and become friends with your feet lol

There's nothing wrong with my feet I think they look nice but I just feel very vulnerable and exposed when I'm barefoot.. About your wiping feet idea and wanting socks, isn't that against the point? I though I was gonna pretend I like having bare feet.

Ok 👍 yes I did not think that there was anything wrong with them and I am glad that you don’t have any complex issues with them lol I was mainly trying to say about the socks that I have a problem with going barefoot tender problems and they get cold and yes I believe you would be right about the wanting socks and being ok with being barefoot would be contradictory unless you are someplace where it is cool and your feet were cold I wish you good luck with it all

Hey, so I want to warn you that not all people on here are good. Those who are asking you to message them are ESPECIALLY not good. Don't DM them at all. Before message a person, check their account and see what kind of questions they asking and what kind of posts they engage with. If it is mostly related to sexuality, then their sole reason on GaG is to engage with these topics and they most probably have intentions behind texting you. It is difficult to recognise a groomer from a safe person at your age because these people are really smart. They'll do disturbing things like trying to make your mom the villian so you get distanced from her. And when you distance yourself from your guardian, they get an upper hand. I'm saying this because I was in your shoes once as a young teenager on internet.

And about your mom, what she is doing as a punishment doesn't seem to be very intense but if showing your feet makes you feel super uncomfortable, have a calm conversation with her. Say her that you do not consent to show your bare feet because it's your body, your choice. Tell her to come up with 'alternative' punishment. No one deserves to feel uncomfortable and shy in a bad way in their own body. If she's a good mother, she'll hear you out. If not, then talk with another trustable adult.

I understand you there I just stumbled upon a artist called Uncle Sam while chatting with her I am not a bad guy with bad intentions or anything and I know me saying that is actually worthless to anyone who doesn’t know me but I got some bad feels from the couple guys that asked her to dm them actually made me wonder if gag stopped her first account because of it it’s really hard to read what is going on in peoples minds and definitely are a lot of predators out on apps like this TikTok and Reddit I couldn’t believe the things I was running into on Reddit just can’t unsee those things and is truly sickening that people are out there that want to do the things they want to do to another living being and they don’t mind saying it on Reddit either blows my mind at all the people they would bann for really stupid stuff but would allow a predator straight out say the grotesque things they wanted to disfigure or physically harm another person advertising the contracts they were wanting people to sign for them pay them and destroy them physically mentally and financially 😣 humans are sickos

Your punishment sounds a bit extreme and not the kind of thing a loving parent would do to her offspring. It almost sounds like she's jealous of you for some reason or in some way. It's not a punishment she is torturing you. Message me if you want and need a sounding board
