What Do People Mean Exactly By 'She Has Daddy Issues'?

And how is a girl or woman different from one who doesn't have Daddy Issues?

I didn't grow up with a Dad and I was always with younger guys! So I don't have any 'Daddy Issues'

People assume it’s about dating older men, it’s not.


Daddy issues are what happens when a daughter cannot get the attention of her father, either because he left or because he doesn’t care about her


So she starts doing things: getting tattoos, getting drunk, being promiscuous, cheating, having unsafe sex and getting pregnant…


All this as her way of saying “look father! This is what your neglect has caused!”
But deeper the idea is still for him to show up and save her and start caring about her

It usually means that she's always had a thing for her dad but never actually owned up to it. It's kinda why some girls like calling their sex partners, "daddy".
It's also about how a girl might be "spoiled" by her dad and has him wrapped around her finger and then expects any boyfriend she gets to be the same way. Like my oldest ex-sister.

I don't have to have a man in my life. I don't go chasing after them, nor have I ever tried to replace him.

I've been single for most of my life and I have been okay with it.
