Are you living or existing?

Question

Ok, so, like, todays question is inspired by an Oscar Wilde quote. Not 'cuz I'm all so literate or anything but 'cuz I have a busy day of touching grass ahead so I don't really have all that much time or enough coffee to be sitting here trying to come up with creative questions for social media to feed the existing existence of my awesome, attention-seeking narcissism which really is what living life is all about for me.

And since life is too important to be taken seriously, I ask, Are you living or existing?

I'm doing both but more living than anything I've kind of became a little bit selfish because I want to experience everything I give of myself quite a bit just to understand deeper levels of it all but to pay attention to what you're doing do it well understand what's going on around you why it's going on around you and how you can help a person that's around you just like on here answering and asking questions I try to ask meaningful questions even though they don't seem like they are to me they are because it's a deeper meaning behind each question same with my answers I don't even think I answered the questions half the time because I feel somebody's energy within the words of their question and I go off on that direction

When you're just existing you're not doing anything if you're quiet and if you listen and start paying attention you will start understanding living in life but it takes so long and being quiet is good but sometimes it gets lonely too I would rather live experience and understand it just exists in vegetate and be nothing nobody there's way more to life to become life

Right now im existing because I realized thats what I live for. I realized recently we are human beings. Not human doings... My whole life has been about this, and that, and being better then someone else, or getting something, or some amount of money. And why? To want more.

Living is always wanting more, existing is not having enough.

Right now existing. I'm just bored and at home. I thrive at an academic place because I pretend to be Rory Gilmore, I miss going to classes. I'll probably start living when college starts.

Have you noticed the answer to every "who said.." question is almost always Oscar Wilde? If you're just existing then who are you existing for? It cannot be yourself otherwise you'd strive to live.

Some of both.

I really feel like I'm living when I'm in the moment, dealing with another life and making a difference emotionally. That could be wife, kids, others in community or even animals. That to me is living.

The rest is existing... mind in the past, somewhere else or in the future.

The life is now. requires focus to stay there. I think the religious idea of prayer, Christian, God has it right as that is what so much of the ideas is focused on, including fasting.

My life has been wildly amazing… so varied, so good, far beyond anything I would have guessed. I won’t get into it because it is so near perfect that many would think I am full of it.

I have had some knocks in life but can’t complain given the cards dealt to many other people I know. I would not be the one that people would have guessed would have such a life, not teachers or neighbors… except for my mom, she would have not been too surprised. Some friends though saw something in me that I didn’t but most people would have bet against me for sure. I have done both good and bad in life. The wild and amazing, life has been a wide eyed experience but played out in slow motion much of the time, it was just happening. Looking back, stunning.

This might sound strange to those that are not religious but it is clear that personal growth affects all areas of your life, including your professional life and domestic life and personal life.

No love, no job.
In search for job changed countries.
In search of love changed my hair, body, teeth, confidence.
I had a good job but I left cause I was depressed and was desperate for some change (I am desperate for love, affection and touch)
