Can you get fired for having body odor or bad breath at work?

There is this new guy and few others including me noticed he has a odor smell sometimes under pits and often from his mouth, not sure what’s going on but you can smell when he comes close enough! He speaks my language and others are telling me to go and tell him as someone who’s close to him I don't know

I was threatened with that cos I got very sweaty, but i used deoderant and had a "Talk" about it and I was close to being fired for it.

The boss will tell you I got in trouble one time for a 5 o’clock shadow. It was absolutely ridiculous and I’ve got blond facial hair, dumb company, and other people had beards

Bring it to the attention to your manager. Don't confront him one on and one as it is not your place.

Unless there’s genuine cause for concern, usually people don’t get fired because of how they smell.

I guess it could be considered a disability. But with a disability they only have to make reasonable accommodations. They can’t have the person stinking up the workplace and making their coworkers uncomfortable.

Plus they’d have to prove that they couldn’t help it. Like with a doctor’s note.
