Do you actually believe compliments about your looks, or think they’re just being nice?

When a girl tells me I am attractive or good looking, I just assume she is being nice , unless she is trying to get me in bed , then that’s a different story , but if she is making compliments without pursuing me further I just assume she is just being nice and think to myself what does she see that I don’t see? I was never the type of person that allowed compliments to get to my head, and the reason that is , is because I was molested by an older woman when I was a child , Don’t get me wrong , I am flattered if she finds me attractive , but it’s something I don’t really hear to often , which my trauma therapist told me the reason I don’t hear to many compliments is because you are attractive? And people are too nervous and shy to approach you. Do you think that is true? I don’t think I am ugly but I also don’t think I am that attractive. Do you experience the same thing or similar?

I believe that when they tell you that you are attractive or good looking they are just paying you a compliment without any hidden agenda behind it.

Whenever a guy would compliment me they would say that I am attractive. Not cute, beautiful, but one guy only saw a picture of me and said that I was very pretty, but he was the acception.

We have to remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I think most people don't have a reason to say such things so if they are saying it there is either a motivation or its genuine.

To tell the difference ask yourself if there is a clear advantage for them to say so? Lile if you are their boss and they want some extra leeway. Or some other way your profession might benefit someone or if you have money or something. But most likely - a compliment is genuine!

Yea that’s how I see it as well, unless they are trying to pursue me and get closer to me , then that’s a different story. I think it’s more flattering when you hear someone else telling you that so and so finds you attractive, the other day a co worker of mine told me a handful of the girls’ at work find me attractive, I laughed and said get out of her , and he said No I heard them all talking about you , and I think to myself Why? I am getting old and I do t have the body that I use to have , , but from what I been told guys’ apparently age like fine wine. Don’t get me wrong I am flattered when I hear compliments but I am even more flattered if she pursues me

Yea I know , I was just answering off of your response, You are very beautiful to my eyes and I am sure other guys’ see you the same way, , the thing is most of you girls’ receive compliments way more than most of us guys’ do , Girls’ are use to receiving compliments , when I really like a girl , I will compliment her every day especially big she becomes my girlfriend, words of affirmation is one of my love languages that I give to her , I will tell her she is beautiful everyday to my eyes and how blessed I feel having her by my side , I know some girls’ don’t like being complimented daily but I am seeking a girl that does like it daily , because I want to be with a girl that appreciates me and values me as well. No more one sided relationships for me , I already made that mistake with my ex.

Nope the women who told me I look good make it very clear they were not lying. They would be honest and not care if they offended someone.
