Do you know what breed my cat is?

I adopted her from a shelter and they said she is a calico domestic long haired cat.

I'm thinking she might be a tortie instead of a calico, colorwise.

When I used Google Lens on her picture, it said she might be a Maine coon or a Norwegian forest cat.

What do you think?

I'm taking her to the vet in 2 weeks. Maybe I'll find out about her more.

She's a pretty kitty. I'm glad you adopted her from a shelter. Now she has a loving forever home.

I think she is more tortie than calico because calicos have more white on their bodies and have patches of black, white and orange that don't really blend together.
But torties don't have any white. So I think your cat is a mixture.

I laughed when I read your question and comment because my wife is always trying to figure out what rare breed our three cats are.

We know for sure that our 18 lb orange boy is part Maine coon, but not 100%.
Our other two are brother and sister. My wife thinks the mother is a Russian blue. But she thinks that the kittens have some Turkish angora because they have long, soft fur and super fluffy tails.

I rescued a tortie from the middle of a busy highway in 1997. The vet said she was 5 weeks old. Rosie became the best kitty in the whole world. She was our indoor kitty for 22 years until she passed away peacefully in her bed on Dec.10, 2019. We still miss her a lot.

Torties typically have little to no white. Calicos and dilute calicos usually have a good bit of white. Can be sort of a toss-up to my eyes. It is a female so certainly doesn't rule calico out. Adorable kitty.

She may have some coloring similar to a tortie based on a brief google search, but the white in her fur explicitly says calico. Unless the white is in a solid pattern along her body, she’s a calico.

I would say Maine Coon as they are a common breed but physically they are quite large cats.
