If I don't need any help before I get to the hospital, then I've already been teaching my 15 year old to drive ahead even before he takes his permit test and I trust him to get me there already... as long as there's no teenage girl walking down the sidewalk on the way there, or I'm as good as dead lol

Teaching is a wonderful thing & teaching someone to drive will pay off. As for my mother I remember her teaching me to drive & & my father taught me to drive manual. I always remember when I got my license because I became the new chauffeur. An ambulance ride it is & that cost it’s cheaper to take the ambulance where you live. 10 Euro is about $11.60 & as for our ambulances on average it’s about $500 to $2000 or 400.30 to 1722.80 Euro.

The problem is that you need ambulances available all the time, when its quiet and when its busy. The main cost of an ambulance service is holding the capacity. So sure you could uberlance the easy rides at convenient times, but someone still needs to pay taxes, insurance or out of pocket for the capacity.

Surprisingly a lot of people are doing it to save on costs however if it’s the kind of emergency where you really need an ambulance an ambulance is the only way to go.

Recently one of our cycling group had an accident in the countryside, unfortunately there would have been a delay of 2 or 3 hours waiting for an ambulance, but someone knew a medic that arrived at the scene, and they took them to the hospital in their car.

I have asked for a cab to attend a mechanical problems for a member of our cycling group also in the countryside, and perhaps there is a better way than Uber or Lyft, because it also takes time.

The hospital usually go to does not have adequate parking. If I had to sit in the emergency room for a few hours I would get my wife to drive me.

Where I live there are a few hospitals & as for my last visits I went at night, walked in around 1am & no one was there & they treated me like a king & my insurance company didn’t like it & covered everything after I had to fight with them. Before I went I called the 24 hour on call nurse on the back of my insurance card & after describing my symptoms she said go to the hospital. I went & after that I got a nasty letter from my insurance company about coverage & they didn’t want to cover it. I told them check the transcript from your on call nurse. Those jokers covered everything.

I live in a xanctusry stste. A visit to the emergency room will take a whole day and if you got on Friday or Saturday you will be there for the weeleknd. nobody can speak English either.

Emergency happen & as for xanctusry stste I totally understand & my state is not a xanctusry stste as of the moment. As for hospitals some of them see your insurance card & their eyes light up & they want you to stay for a few days. I could only imagine things during covid.

As for me I have done the same & a few time as well. I always say as long as I can walk out of the house I’m driving & if there is ever a time where I am unable to or don’t think I can drive I’ll make that call if the time comes.

Yeah. Most of my er trips i drove or was driven in a car. Only time a medic transported me was when I fell at work... and maybe count the $250k lifeflight transferring hospitals after my surgery went bad.
