What's the most ridiculous thing you've done just because staying home sounded boring?

My cousin and I were so bored that we randomly drove to the Golden Gate Bridge with no real plan.. we spent more time getting there than actually deciding what to do once we arrived… it made absolutely no sense, but it turned a boring day into one of our favorite memories 😄

A friend from work and I decided to so something on a weekend just for the heck of it.
We called airlines to find the cheapest round trip flight to anywhere interesting. They had round trip flights to St. Louis for $200. So we took the red eye on Friday, arrived in St. Louis early Saturday morning and rented a car.
We drove around, toured the Anheuser Busch Brewery, toured the Gateway Arch and rode to the top, and had a delicious dinner on a paddle wheeler riding down the Mississippi River. We had fun.
Then we got back on the red eye flight back to Los Angeles, slept most of the day on Sunday and went to work on Monday.
It was a wild thing to do just to break the monotony of work.

As a primary schooler (7, 8 years old) I took my bike and rode ten km to visit my grandparents, one km along a very busy highway on-ramp. 🫣 My parents (who were shopping, or something) had to pick me up a few hours later, so I wouldn’t have to cycle back in the dark.

I drove all the way to Louisiana from South Carolina by myself. That's a 9 hour drive. Will never do that again. It was a lot of driving. Of course I stopped in Mississippi to rest but I did drive all the way there and back.

Going out with two of my cousins. One (Kevin) came in from Indiana (an 8 hour drive) and invited me to go with him to see one of our cousins (Partrick) about half an hour from here. Both are a couple years older than me. We met up with Patrick at some disco bar. Pat treats me like some stupid little kid, even though I was in my 20's by then and he refused to let me hang with him at this bar so, Kevin drove me over to Pat's house a few miles away where they left me to watch t. v. and listen to records! By the end of the night, several hours later, Kevin was too drunk to drive me back home so, I was forced to sleep in the living room at Pat's (my uncle Mike's) house! What a thrilling night that was!! I SHOULD'VE stayed the fuck home and did what I wanted!!

Your experience is exactly what you should be doing in life. Go, make something of the day.

I have had many such trips. A quick weekend into a snowy state where we stayed at a a hotel from the mid-1800s that we just wandered across. It had a sign in book and they had past famous guests from the 1860s etc. We found cool things to do.

We did another snowy trip and stayed in an 1800s grain store that was converted into a luxury room at a B&B. My daughter used espresso beans from the kitchen to make the eyes of a petite snowman. We went sledding and at the bottom of the hill was a fats food place for warmth and hot chocolate. All this from me hearing it snowed in another state and on a Friday we just left for it.

Learn from your trip that these can be some of the best trips. Go where ever the road and your instincts take you.

I went and saw  Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon  with a couple of friends. I didn't want to see it. I just didn't want to sit at home and tried to talk them out of seeing that movie. It was worse than i thought it'd be. I think we were the only non Asian people in the theater.😆 I'd say it was top 3 the worst movie i've ever seen.

I was driving through San Francisco a few years ago and never got over to that side of town to see the Golden Gate up close…

I was there with some friends for a music festival. We were coming off the Bay Bridge from Oakland and just seeing it through the marine layer… it looked so ominous! 😳

Spontaneous adventures can be fun especially when bored, whether it goes as planned or it doesn’t , at least you tried, instead of just sitting bored contemplating about it , there are times when I am bored as shit and then I just get up and go without really knowing what I want to do , but eventually , in most cases , I end up finding something fun to do and my boredom disappears 😊

As a teenager, 5 or 6 of us jumped on our bicycles (with pedals) and went on a ride to Maine (200 miles). Stopped at a Dunkin Donuts for a coffee and came back home. Killed 5 days.
