Pretty much yes. You can stretch an elastic band until it snaps but once it is snapped, you can never put it back together the way it was before snapping.

The same applies with trust. You will always have a thought in the back of your mind about the time your trust was misused. There are so many different ways of cheating that trust, not just physically in a relationship but also in many different ways.

The catalyst is always the incentive it takes to break the trust. The higher the stakes, the more likely it is to break that trust once again.
