How often do you actively watch Sunrise or Sunset?

I certainly don't have the most amazing views over here, however... the skies don't really need that much to be a great view... especially when it comes to the sunrise/sunset transitions...

a sunrise are a bit more rare for me to catch but my cats will wake me up sometimes and at the right time for it, as well... I sometimes go out a bit, right after I feed them and before I go back to bed to get a bit more of sleep

the sunsets are my favorite though... and I do welcome those way more often, that... and looking up for the moon as well, you know... just to be sure that's still there... lmao

I live half way up the side of a westerly facing hill with an amazing view, so I check out sunsets all the time. Some are absolutely spectacular. I have taken lots of photos over the years.
The hill rises behind me to the east and, besides, I am not an early riser, so I almost never see sunrises.

Sunrise, almost every day, as I have it right in front of me on my terrace and from my bedroom.

Sunset, whenever I get the chance.

Those are magical moments and have been that way since humans walk this earth. They probably are at the basis of many early religions.

I like waking to dawn and watching the sunrise and listening to the birds waking up. Especially the cockatoos. Noisy buggars but you gotta smile.

I do... swallows, magpies, crows, pigeons, falcons and owls.

Australia. Hence cockatoos in the morning (and evening). They have a scheduled flight path over my apartment. Our magpies and crows are different species. Occassionaly a Kookaburra makes a guest appearance. Rainbow Lorikeets sometimes - never enough of them.

That's such a cute bird and the call is something I'd enjoy waking up to.

It is a sweet song. I more them associate with the high country but they visit my area during winter when it is cold. They keep calling for a good long time compared to other birds.

Interesting. Here I have a similar situation where the birds sing well into the night. They hardly ever stop.

Is it a specific bird that is doing this? A lot of birds go crazy at dusk but never at night

I think it's mainly swallows. I live in quite a big house that is surrounded by oak trees and the birds seem to nest all on my roof. So sometimes when I go to bed I hear the swallows still chirp. Which is odd but I guess it happens.

I think I have only seen a swallow once when young. Well if they chirp at night they are chirping at night. Do any outside lights go off at that time?

None at all. The only thing that shines at night is the moon and the stars.

As often as possible. In the summer I usually go for an early morning trail run before it gets too hot and watching the sun rise is a great way to start out the day.

Its not planned but we had a pretty red sun sunset the other night while returning from my recently deceased sister's grave. I catch a few sunrises a week.
