Yesterday, the 7th marked the anniversary of when Henry Tudor returned to Wales, bringing French troops to help us overthrow King Richard. Today, the 8th marks the defeat of the Spanish armarda at Graveslines. Tomorrow, the 9th is when Richard Nixon resigned as president.

In history something has happened on every day of the year. Most of it goes uncelebrated but I think having a little Google each day helps keep me educated and puts the world in perspective, all things no matter how good or bad fade away.

With a little help from Google, I discovered a few tidbits:

48 BC: Julius Caesar won a decisive victory over Pompey at the Battle of Pharsalus during the Roman civil war.

I enjoy trivia in general. History is no exception.
I used to work in a bar that had a poster on the wall that read “If you really need an excuse…” and then listed a holiday or other celebratory event for every day of the year. I always thought that was funny and my entire life when someone would ask “What are we celebrating?”, i would remember that poster and wish i had memorized all of those excuses to party.
I’m gonna go ahead and call your internet search suggestion “cheating”. That way i don’t feel so dumb for not thinking of it myself.

by the way for today's history (aug 9th), 81 years ago the atomic bombing of Nagasaki. happened, pushing Japan to surrender to the US.

I love your idea as many things are being erased from the history books we are the of a generation to know about a lot of different things before the digital age a lot of our history about truth is being erased and made into another story to make it look like something completely different so I think you have a good idea

Add all these ''world-so-and-so-day'' inventions that may distract us from our own -and real- life.

I decided to be very selective about historical relevance.
