1492 Columbus 'discovers' America

1776 the constitutional founding of the united states

1865 end of the civil war & the ratification of the 13th amendment

1945 the end of world war 2

1620 Mayflower lands in Massachusetts

1776 Revolutionary War begins

1865 US Civil War ends

1945 WW II ends in Europe and in the Pacific Theatre

Except the revolutionary war was from 1775-1783. 1776 was the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

not by number. but i can remember the stories because a story is easier to remember.

1492 european found an island in the new world. but important? when did vikings land in america? 1517 forgot. but i know the story of reformation. 1620? but i know a few Thanksgiving versions. 1776 got drilled into our heads in scool. but not realy free until 1790 something? 1865 no idea. why important? 1945 i knew kuz recent. axis surrendered.
