Does Anyone Here Visit Older People Who Are All Alone?

I didn't know this until today but I've inspired one of our members to start doing that. She's so thoughtful and sweet. This question was inspired by @Kelly6.

Nobody ever comes to visit me.
Sometimes, I go next door to talk to the older woman that lives there but, she tends to be cranky and might not even come to the door to actually talk.
When we were kids, we used to go over to see Mr. and Mrs. Fay, who lived about 2 blocks away. I think they were in their `80's. After Mrs. Fay died, we'd invite Mr. Fay over for Sunday dinner every so often.
In an apartment building less than a block away, we used to go visit an older couple. I can't seem to grab their name I wanna say, McNeil. and found out they were the grandparents of a girl I was in school with.
Another couple across the street, Sam & Sophie Bondi, would get visits from us, too.
Although we never visited her, Mrs. Leech, who lived next door, used to babysit us once in a while. Her cousin was William Demerest; Uncle Charlie on the t. v. show, "My 3 Sons".
Quite often, I'd come over this way (4 miles from my house) on my bike several times a week to hit all the local record stores and, about 1/3 of the time, I'd come here to grandma's house and visit her and Grandpap.
Dad's oldest brother, 18 years older than dad, lived a block away from us and we'd go down and visit them a lot. They were in 50's when I was born.
And, my other grandmother used to live with us. Or, rather, we lived with her. She bought the house in `36 and dad never left, got married and had kids, lived there `til he died and bought the house from grandma before she died when I was about 17 years old.
There were a lot of older people that lived around us so, there were probably several others that I'd go visit from time to time.

not exactly visit them, but I do have elderly neighbors and I make sure to help them with the yard work... especially during these hellish days

they do like to keep A LOT of things at their yard, so... they will NEVER ask for my help, but I can always hear them and then I just go there to help them out, and I do it myself, lol

@sage2021 Yes I regularly visit a old lady in our neighbor who lives alone.

I give her company and do her chores without her telling me.

Just so she doesn't feel me stranger.

Her smile and laugh makes me very happy.

Her smile speaks for her feelings

No I don't!

I don't feel sorry for the majority of people that are alone, whatever their age.

There are plenty of clubs, societies etc. for people to join, and if they lack mobility there is usually transport available. for them, they just need to ask.

The problem is some people just don't want to make the effort to meet people.

I have neighbors that I check up on if we have a blizzard. I shovel the driveway of the guy who lives across from me until he comes out of thr house and tells me he can do it himself. He is 93.
