How often do you visit your grandparents?

I have lots of younger cousins, but I always felt like they were always spoiled thanks to being young, cute and adorable.

Elderly rarely get that much attention though. Which always made me feel sad.

So, I often call my grandparents, because I am in another country now and calling is the only thing I can do, one of my grandma’s has got Alzheimer’s and can barely talk at this point, but I often talk to her too, I call her everyday and tell her my stories and ask her for advice, which makes her feel needed and she does her best to speak back to me and engage in a conversation. Sometimes I don’t understand what she says, but I always say thank you and how happy I am to have her. She never fails to answer me with “I love you, too”, when I tell her I love her, even though she almost forgot how to speak. I sometimes sing with her too, and she joins with the melody.

It’s a highly rewarding experience for me, because I feel happy to know I light up her day and I feel like if people spent more time with elderly , they’d be kinder, more understanding, more empathetic and just happier individuals.

That’s just my thought. Do you often visit your grandparents? And don’t you think it’s an amazing feeling to have them and being lived by them?
