I did not, I saw it as useless without a date. Plus I didn’t want to spend that much on just a few hours back then.
Yeah, I went. I had a girlfriend, so it was kind of expected. It was a whole big to-do, but my parents paid, so I didn’t care, haha. Had to rent a tux, go in on a limo with a few friends, getting a corsage from a florist, my girl had to get a dress and get her hair done, etc, etc.
It was a good time overall, I guess, the prom itself was pretty lame, it was like any wedding reception I’ve been to, just obviously with a different theme, but it’s the same deal with sitting at a table and getting some half-assed catered meal, then some dancing, they announce the king and queen, some more dancing, and that’s that. Then you take off in your limo and go to an after-party, and that was more fun than the prom. But I mean, I can also go to a house party any time, and not have to be in a damn tuxedo, lmao.
Glad I went, I guess, but it wouldn’t have been the end of the world if I hadn’t. Like I’d probably regret it more than I realize I should in that situation, having actually gone. It’s whatever. I could take it or leave it. It’s hyped up more than it actually delivers.

In Australia at the time it was called a Social , and you dont go with a date , you just go , there was no real cost , so of course I went.
They are doing some other such American " coming out " stuff now I believe , which is very very sad in my opinion , at 17 my girlfriend was 15 , so I could not have taken her anyhow.
I think its horrendous to put such pressure on what are really children , plus I've seen those movies.
I went and I was not impressed. The food was around 2 or more hours late and was cheap. I got made fun of by a group of girls for the way I danced, my date was a gay friend I did not like, and a girl mocked me for my personality at my all girl’s sleep over the night after prom and we were kicked out of the sleepover house before 10 a. m. cause the host had plans that morning.
I didn’t. My mom was deployed at the time so dress shopping wasn’t ideal. My dad offered and isn’t stingy money wise, but I didn’t want to be stuck wearing something I didn’t like so late since everyone ordered dresses online months in advance.
The guy who asked me thankfully went at the last moment so I didn’t feel as bad.

Nah my whole class stuck a middle finger up to the prom and did our own thing instead. We rented a couple of ex-military Mercedes Unimogs and all piled into the back of them, drove up a mountain, lit a big bonfire, got on the piss, and had a damn good time together. Two people ended up in the back of an ambulance but other than that it went flawlessly and was 10 times more fun than a prom😂
I was a nerd and very shy back then so no date so I didn't go.
I did not. A really nice girl asked me but I declined. I really did not have many friends in high school and imagined if I were to go I would have gotten in a fight with somebody. This girl really wanted to go with me and it really would have made her happy. It is one of the few regrets I have
No because of accident, missed last half of my junior year and first half of my senior year. Lucky had good grades in my freshman year sophomore year and first half of my junior year. So was automatically given credit for my junior year, because they assumed that I was going to die anyways. Last half of my senior year was easy. So missed my prom.
No.
1. I didn't know that we even had one.
2. What would be the point? Nobody would've gone with me.
3. By that time, I'd completely stopped dancing and couldn't remember how, anymore, except for the Twist and Peppermint Twist. The Pogo hadn't been invented, yet.
4. I didn't have any money to get a suit or even a flower.
5. I still don't drive so, I don't think she'd be thrilled to have my parents pick her up or have hers pick me up!I went to my country's version of "school dances" aka "proms" at both year 2010 and year 2012. Both events I have some misgivings about, however I try to think back to the enjoyable parts of it being all about me, me, me and forget any other memories or people people people 😞😔 lol 🤣😆
Didn't go waste of time and I didn't like anyone in school so the less time I had to spend around them the better
Yeah. I just went with my friends and we took pictures at the booth and listened to music while wearing our prom outfits. That's about all there is to do.

I did but no... we took off to somewhere else
I did. Chance of a piss up with friends before all going off in different directions.
Was before social media and even phones weren't as much of a thing. Haven't seen some of the guys since thenNo I didn't
I couldn't afford a worthy car and didn't know anyone with one available like I do now
I spent the evening with my girlfriend, in bed with a bottle of vodkaBecause I was 16 yo and couldn't be arsed with that bollocks.
I hated school. And there was no fit birds in my year anyway.
Nope I spent a few days at the beach instead and it was well worth it
I didn't. We didn't have a prom because of covid.
Yes and it was the prom night from hell.
Everything that could go wrong did. It was a bad night.Nah I went homecoming and winter dances but never prom
I went to my senior prom because it was my last year and you only get one. My date was my high school sweetheart and that’s where I had my first kiss.
I didn't go. I didn't have anyone to go with. It seemed like a waste of a decent evening.
I think I would’ve loved to but unfortunately I was raised in a brainwashy cult atmosphere by crazy people where pretty much every normal growing up thing wasn’t allowed. I pretty much missed out on the whole high school experience.
No i never participated in social functions as one girl told me in HS "I have standards"
