Did you go to prom?

Yes, I went to both my junior and senior proms, but unfortunately my experiences weren't that great. I did salvage the night both times and they still turned out okay, but not something I'd want a redo of.
Junior year, my boyfriend at the time stood me up on the very day of for my friend. That was extremely hurtful. I ended up just going with a group of my friends instead.
Senior year, I had a lot of crap going on, including scary health issues in my family, having to take on a lot of responsibilities while this was going on, dealing with my own insecurities, etc., and of course it all boiled over on the day of my senior prom, so I was really stressed out. I also hated the way I looked in my dress and was upset about that. I managed to pull it together before the actual event and I did have a prom date, but he ended up ignoring me for a different girl he had a crush on.
I went to prom. It sucked. I had a date and everything, and he stood me up. Then he showed up with another girl, tried to squeeze her in at our table, and said I was a bitch for not giving up my seat. I called my brother to pick me up later on and I went home in tears. Turns out I dodged a bullet with that guy.
We do not have prom here..
But we had a high school farewell and I didn't go...
So I am proud of you.. that you did..
Even if it was alone..
I didn't do that mistake in college..
I went for college farewell.. And enjoyed it..
We don't have prom here, rather a similar function which we call 'farewell'. The only thing I liked there was food lol.

No I didn't go to prom. I didn't have any friends, didn't like the music my school played, and didn't want to dance so I didn't see a reason to go and stare at a wall.
No sir I was not in school in senior year. Nor high school.
you look Awesome 😎👍🏻
Thanksπ what do you mean you weren't in school? You dropped out?
I went to 3 proms. My junior and senior prom and my now fiancéβs senior prom. For some reason I still have my dresses too.
I always wished I did... But I didn't date in high school and I didn't like wearing dresses 🙅😭😵
I did! I didn't have a date, but I was perfectly fine with this! I had a lot of fun too
I did and I hated it and so did the girl I brought as my partner. I wish there wasn't a thing called prom at all.
Nope I went to a keg party.
No never wanted to go
I had no reason to go to prom.
Nope we skipped prom to go fishing
Yep. Random q: did you go to school in the south?
No, I lived i Connecticut for all my life until I moved to Texas in summer of 2018. Went to college for a year in Connecticut, landed a good job in Texas and I haven't looked back since.
Did you become racist in Texas or Connecticut?
How am I racist?
TF kind of question is that?
I've just seen you call people the n-word quite a few times on here. Just remember your username.
Ah, so they can call me a neo nazi, school shooter, KKK member, rapist, white trash, a fascist, and threaten to kidnap and kill me, but I can't say the word that they normalized by calling eachother by that all the time? Give me a breakπ
uh, yes? Wouldn't those names come with the fact you call people the n-word consistently? What do you think you would be called in return?
I've never directly called a black person a n** unless they fit into the definition by being involved with or supporting gang members, calling for violence against police, or called me one of those things first. If I were racist, I would've said that all black people are like that, which I have no recollection of saying, but in the off chance that I did say that, then I was wrong and I apologize for it.
I said it in response to what they said to me simply because my beliefs differ with theirs and they can't win a debate with me, so they have to try to demonize and slander me. A common tactic among leftists. by the way, Hitler's beliefs had far more in common with modern leftists than with mine, if you compare them side by side, Hitler's beliefs are nearly a 1:1 direct carryover when compared to the modern left, the only difference is that the left hates white people and jews
I actually remember I was having a disagreement with you and you called me the n-word off the bat, then reported me. I even have the receipts for that conversation. If you use a slur to degrade someone, then you're racist. That literally the definition of racism.
Actually the definition of racism is discrimination against someone based on their race. If throwing insults towards someone for their race is racism, then why don't you consider the people who call me a school shooter based on me being white racists?π€ if I did call you that off the bat, then I do apologize for saying that as it was insensitive and childish, but why do you apply that standard selectively?
I think I remember what you're talking about now, I believe this is about a question regarding freedom of speech and I said that we have the right to speak freely regardless of whether someone finds it offensive or not, then I said n**. Correct?
No, im saying you don't have to make a whole statement about an entire race to be racist. You can call 3 black people the n word and be racist, you get me? And thank you! I appreciate your apology.
That's a good question! I don't consider that a slur is what im saying. There's a difference between a dick-face stereotype and blatant racism. For example, if you called a black person a fried-chicken eating asshole, that's pretty rude, but you're playing off a stereotype. Nothing of what you said made me feel "less than" which is the point of racism. Calling you a school shooter isn't saying your value is less than mine. It's just a stereotype.
No, actually... but it's concerning that you remembered another incident you used the nword. Regardless, that wasn't it and it's odd that your first urge of free speech was to say a slur...
It was to show that I have the freedom to speak freely and it was about so called "hate speech", which I don't believe in and I strongly value freedom of speech. Painting me as a school shooter because I'm white isn't any more valid than the example you gave about fried chicken eating black people (idk where that stereotype came about, nor do I care).
And I'm saying that your definition of racism and the real definition are conflicting, which suggests that you need to reassess what you label as such because you use the term improperly
I think that this conversation won't go anywhere. I can tell you aren't the type of person to be swayed or be willing to be. I wish you a good quarantine and I hope in the future if a black person is arguing with you, your immediate reflex is not to call them a slur. And i suppose i hope they don't trigger you with saying school shooter, too.
Have a good on!
Just was to say the "trigger" part of my reply sounded sarcastic, but i swear it's not! im 100% serious. hope your future arguments are mature from both parties.
I'm not quarantined as my work is considered essential, and I've toned it back and improved my outlook towards blacks. You don't seem to be willing to apply the standard consistently at all
*wanted to say
no i am. i don't believe in calling people names in general so i wouldn't be calling you a school shooter. i just disagree that it's on the same level as the n word.
Since you asked so nicely, I am a legal gun owner and I train extensively, but I'm defensive, not offensive, meaning I'll only attack in self defense
um... ok... good for you?
I didn't go. I don't like the format of it.
Yes. Most people do.
Nope
Yes, I went.
