Kind of did. I totally regret how much of a dick I was that night. My date was a girl I had gone out with a few times and really a nice person. I on the other hand at the time was at a point in my life that I didn’t care about how anyone else felt. I was going to do what I wanted and you could join me or not I didn’t care about what you wanted. I was just ready to graduate and get the hell out of town. The morning of prom my buddy and I went picked up our tuxedos and grabbed lunch. The cute girl at Arby’s was a little flirty and I got her number so fast forward to that night. We go pick up our dates do the whole picture thing for her Mom & Dad. Dad does the whole be a gentleman with my daughter thing. I am thinking dude if you only knew. So we go to dinner of course we have started drinking and I am buzzed. Walking out of the restaurant there is the girl from this morning her date is in my class. We get to the prom and I am smashed. Five minutes later I left my date standing off to the side waiting in line to do the posed Prom photo walk over to the girl from Arby’s and tell her date he can go home now because she is going to be hanging out with me tonight. That’s when Prom was over for me, the date I brought, my classmate and his date, my buddy and a couple others who decided to take sides. We get thrown out end up wrestling around in the parking lot for a little bit before the threat of the police are on the way made us all get out of there. A mile down the road with my tongue down new girl’s throat my date says “Can you just drop me off at home “. She never talked to me again and once I grew up some I don’t blame her and regretted everything I did. I ruined this girl who was one of the nicest people I ever met even to this day and totally humiliated her. I hope I didn’t ruin the rest of her life because of it. After a short jail stay and years of therapy I don’t even know the person I once was. I do share the memories of that time in life. I hate that person and never want to be him again.

+1 yWell I had two graduation ceremonies and went to both, both was awful and so damn boring.
It's not like the proms in movies here, I don't even know how normal proms are but here everyone meets up in a big sports hall, what we pay for, dressed nicely and then some people hold speeches, everyone else sits around and you get your certificate, some open buffet and that's it.10 Reply
Nah, Covid ruined my only chance to go to prom because schools shut down and they had to refund everyone's tickets.

I'm actually 19, but my Junior year I didn't really go because the person I was gonna go with didn't want to go, so I had no one to go with. My Senior year, I was like 16-17 and was gonna go with my friends since they were going that year, but Covid was kind of getting bad at that time, apparently. So they shut schools down and I didn't get to go.

u +1 yI left high school to attend college after my junior year, and my university was 350 miles from my high school, so I was not able to attend the senior prom.

+1 yGraduated in 2016. Nope there wasn't even a prom, isn't really a thing here. Also these ceremonial square hats you see in movies do not exist. Some students did a private prom, typical USA style, but I didn't go.
Here its more tradition for grads to go all together with grads from all schools to Lloret de mar in Spain to drink and party. Didn't go though10 Reply
+1 yThank goodness, no. Was upset about missing Disneyland though (the local schools have all nighters after prom) but not if forced to wear heels and checked to make sure you didn’t sneak more sensible shoes. Barbaric.
10 Reply3.1K opinions shared on Other topic. I did not, because I was basically too young. I was a 16-year-old senior, the brain of the school, but very awkward. Even if I could have had my pick of the girls, there wasn't anyone I wanted to go with.
I don't regret missing it.10 ReplyNo, but I did go to several military balls throughout high school for ROTC which is kinda like a prom.

+1 yNope, couldn't get a date and didn't want to be at the last dance of the year, being rejected to even dance and having to stick to the walls, so I stayed home and used my grad money on alcohol and dinner and just play games online.
