Wombat poop is cube shaped.
If you don’t know what a wombat is now you do. Poop is the word of the day & speaking of poop did you know wombat poop is cubed shaped? If you ever come across a wombat or you happen to see brown cubes on the ground don’t eat them it’s not chocolate.

Oh wait there’s more! I have a lot of useless facts swimming around in my mind.

I’m all ears 😂
Did you know Cows have regional mooing accents depending on where they live? It’s amazing dragonflies have six legs & they can’t walk.
Did you know a crocodile cannot stick its tongue out? Did you know a hummingbird is the only animal that can fly backwards?

I can compute an exact square root number. When I was a kid in the 1970s, this was taught in grade school, but was generally removed from the curriculum once calculators became prevalent.
The method looks like long-division and it is similar. It's hard to explain, but easy to do.
I'll let these guys explain it:
https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/dsa/long-division-method-to-find-square-root-with-examples/
https://www.vedantu.com/maths/square-root-long-division-method
I think I learned this in the middle school but possibly earlier.
This is a very good video.

3 dI once learned, while i was participating in skydiving, that the highest skydive record was held by Joe Kittinger who jumped from 120,000 feet in 1960.
So this evolved into two useless facts in 2012, when Felix Baumgartner broke the record by jumping from 128,000 feet.
Only recently did i discover that Felix’s record has since been broken by Alan Eustace, who jumped from nearly 136,000 feet.
I don’t even skydive anymore. This information is nothing more than useless trivia that i have to keep up on. Otherwise i’m going to say to someone, “Did you know that Alan Eustace holds the world record for the highest skydive?” and they might say, “That’s not true. Wile E. Coyote (or whoever) broke that record last year.”, and i look like an even bigger idiot.
I’m probably going to get the old timers’ disease and forget everything except Joe Kittinger’s record skydive. Ho hum…26 Reply- 2 d
Didn't it take the guy 45 minutes to get down to parachute height?
- 2 d
More like four to five minutes, not forty-five minutes. The upper atmosphere is less dense. So they literally fall faster the higher they jump. Baumgartner and Eustace broke the sound barrier. They have to watch an altimeter to know when they’re low enough to safely deploy a drogue chute. After that point, it’s more like a typical skydive. They have safety equipment that deploys their parachutes for them in case they lose consciousness.
It’s all very intense until the final canopy ride. That is a novel sensation. Almost floating silently through the sky as one of the all time great adrenaline rushes works its way out of your system. Ell oh ell! - 2 d
Almost seems like he would be weightless up there.
- 2 d
They are surprisingly far from outer space. The atmosphere doesn’t really “end” per se. It just keeps getting thinner. The consensus for the distance to outside of Earth’s atmosphere is around 60 miles and these guys are jumping from around 25 miles. “Weightlessness” is another matter.
- 2 d
It is theoretically possible to become “weightless” if you found a location in outer space significantly far enough removed from any body large enough to create a gravitational pull. Remember that the moon is 240,000 miles from Earth and it orbits our planet because of shared gravitational effects. What we call “microgravity” in orbit is actually the weightlessness that operators experience when they are in freefall. I can’t describe it better than Neil Degrasse Tyson. So i’ll share the video from which i learned this little factoid.

3 dOh crap, I'm filled with useless information. I've spent a lifetime cramming crap I don't want to know into my brain.
How's this? You can sharpen a knife or skis with sandpaper. Most interior door locks in the US can be opened in seconds with a paper clip. Safety design so kids can't lock themselves in a bathroom or bedroom or you can't lock yourself out.

Oh and here's more stuff I don't want in my brain. If you're replacing a magneto on a small engine like a lawnmower, snow blower, power washer, etc. the magneto gap with the magnets in the flywheel needs to be set precisely. Normally you'd need a feeler gauge. Instead, take a disposable water bottle and cut 2 strips and stack them together. Now position the strips under the magneto when you bolt it into place. Then pull the strips out. The magneto is perfectly gapped.
- 3 d
Wait, the magneto thing is actually smart. I’m gonna remember this 😆

2 dThe “S” is former U. S. President Harry S Truman’s name is NOT an abbreviation. His parents couldn’t agree on which grandfather to honor — Shipp or Solomon — so they compromised on “S” as a nod to both.
Additionally, since it wasn’t an abbreviation for anything, there was no period after the “S”; that was just his middle name.
21 Reply- 2 d

Ulysses S Grant has no middle name. Military bureaucracy required a middle initial anyway.
Robert S McNamara's middle name is Strange.
