So I have my husband’s friend who is dating a girl.
She is older than me. She seems very insecured and she tries to copy my mannerisms. Once she got really drunk and accidentally told her her boyfriend tells her to dress like me. I genuinely am a bit worried I hate when people try to do or be like me. What can I do?

It doesn’t sound like she’s trying to act and/or dress like you on her own accord, but because she’s specifically being directed by her partner, so I’d really suggest giving her some grace when you bring this up to your husband. It’s a conversation that must be had if it hasn’t already, because if his friend has some sort of romantic interest in you then can handle that accordingly, such as distancing yourself from the couple, avoiding double dates or settings where you’re one on one, etc.
If it’s not a matter of interest and he’s just not a fan of her style, then that’s something it’d be best to communicate rather than mimic. I know it can seem like least case scenario, but I do think it’s fair to consider. I have a male cousin who had done the same with his then-gf, and when I noticed her sudden change in style, I privately asked him about it. He admitted not liking her outfits and we arranged to go shopping, I invited her. That we a thing for about a year before they moved away.
Omg I love this perspective! Thank you:3
Yikes Yelp You Say & as for me I’m here to help or at least try to help.
I always say if you want to look skinny hangout with fat people.
On the other hand if she’s copying your mannerisms change your mannerisms.
In addition when all of you go out wear something that you wouldn’t normally wear or wear something that you wouldn’t think she would wear.
Change it up & see if she changes it with you.
Thank you so much for this! It does makes sense :)
Dealing with anyone who is actively copying your style, speech, mannerism or anything else is fueled by insecurity. Mentally stable people don't engage in such behavior.
Be flattered. Sometimes people copy other people to mock them, but this one is a compliment.
You can't control what other people do. Just don't worry about it.
It sure sounds like it!! DAMN!! How did you get outta THAT one?
Soap and water
does not compute. You gave no details.
That’s really weird. Tell her to back off
