I have to many towns I have lived in to tell you "MY TOWN".
I guess ill share a little about the cities I lived in.
Newcastle - For being in the UK and how expensive it is to usually live here it is a nice place. You get very friendly locals, and great party night life probably on par with London but not at London prices.
Buenos Aires- BA is just f***ing awesome. A true metropolis from the first time you arrive you feel more like you are in Paris or NY than in South America. High rises are the norm in the capital and because of the economic collapse of 2001 it is relatively cheap although prices are quickly rising. If you have money invest here, a house worth 200k 5 years ago is worth 800k now and the economy just keeps growing.
Bogota- Just something else. Other than the cold weather and constant rain it is such an amazing city. It has probably the best food I have ever experienced for great prices. It is a fussion and mix of latin America with US with Europe with Asian. It has amazing night life, I just can't compare Colombian women to any other in the world. They are beautiful and still maintain that sweet loving personality that most women in Western countries seem to have abandoned.
Washington D.C- Hmmm the museums were nice and mostly a very clean place, beautiful natural parks and walks. It was a bit boring to be honest but I was very young back then.
Bangkok- Another amazing place to live. Everything is dirt cheap and food is simply exquisite. The city is complete chaos, traffic was bad 10 years ago so I can just imagine it getting worst and worst. A lot of pollution, you need to wear a mask or else it is like smoking cigarettes all day. Despite all this still you find some really amazing things here, the river and floating markets for example. The islands and holliday destinations. I am sure the night life was amazing also although I was way to young to appreciate. I do remeber just stepping out of my house I would see street filled with prostitutes I think I lived in the middle of the red light district but in a closed of compound.
Fortaleza- Sunny, tropical, fun loving people. My home town, can't give many specific details cause it was so long ago but I just love this place. Brazil as a whole is just a beautiful country with so many beautiful people. A racial mix where anything is OK, and everyone is just enjoying and having fun. Only issues I guess is the large gap between the haves and have not but slowly things are improving.

Southwest Michigan
Pros: Going to the movies where before noon tickets are $2.50, noon-5:59 $4.00 and after 6 tickets are $5. Large drink is $1.75 (downside - $.75 refill) Large Popcorn is $2.25 and mon-thurs its BYOB you get free Popcorn. Candy and everything else is priced around the same amounts. Inside the theater there is a cafe, so if you want to sit down and have a latte or w/e you can. The theater is right next to a river and park. So if you want to go for a walk before or after the date by the river you can without having to get into your car and drive off somewhere. The theater parking lot is small, but you can park behind it in the park, parking lot so not usually a problem. Town is pretty small in comparison to the bigger cities. (in town population - 12,000) I keep saying town but it's technically a city. About 20 minutes north of South Bend, Indiana. So if you like football, and like Notre Dame, or are more like me and hate Notre Dame, you can go to their games and watch them win/lose. Depending on what you are hoping for. If no ticket, go and tailgate and only have a short 20 minute drive back home. If you like a big city you aren't that far from one so you can experience a small town and a big city within 10 miles. Watch Minor league baseball games in the summer for like 3 bucks, another nice date if both parties like baseball.
Cons: Depending on if you like or dislike cold weather and lake-effect snow. In January it can snow 30 inches in a few days then a few days later have all the snow gone, Once February hits expect mainly snow and sub 10 degree (F) for the majority of the time. With windchill below 0.
Wow, our theater tickets where I live are 10 dollars and matinee (before noon) are 5. I costs me nearly 12 dollars just for some nachos and a drink You lucky duck
I live in Mobile, Al. One of the most boring cities on earth.
Cons: I have seen every sight and tourist attraction and they're all mediocre. There is nothing to do here it's boring. It rains here a lot too. You'll need a car to get around, taxis have to be called by phone and buses are only in a few places in the city limits. To go to a mall that doesn't suck , you'd have to drive to Spanish Fort which is 45 minutes away. Our spring weather is like your idea summer weather. Everyone that move here complains about living here and people who are used to deal with it. If you live by the airport, you hear planes taking off 24/7. We have a pretty high crime rate. It
Pros: Although there was an oil spill the beaches are still gorgeous . We are the home of Mardi Gras, a lot of people mistake New Orleans for having it first. The air is very fresh. The people are friendly. The cost of living isn't as high as other places like California for example. We have awesome seafood. Home of the Senior Bowl and Bay Fest. We have a great mayor. I really don't know anything else that's good.
I'd suggest not moving here.
Like:
- It's relatively quiet and safe.
- There are good schools (most of them) and plenty of playgrounds if you have children.
- It's easy to get around, and traffic isn't too bad.
- It's clean-looking and road maintenance is really good (although sometimes they fix roads that were just fine, which is a waste of money).
- Plenty of recreational activities to keep you busy when you're not working.
Dislike:
- It can get a bit boring, especially if you're into the bar/club scene. You usually have to go outside of the city to go to the good bars/clubs.
- Not a lot of major events going on (ties into the boring factor, haha).
Overall I think it's a really good city, especially if you want to raise children. The only thing I'd suggest with that is doing thorough research on what school you put your child into. Overall, they're decent, but there are some that don't foster healthy learning at all.

I like the college atmosphere.
Elmwood strip is the best.
Dislike it is segregated, like blacks here, whites, Hispanics. And then it is subdivided so like black rich people live here, black poor folk live there, white rich, etc.
The economy is slowly declining, no business. No jobs.
Poor local government. Our mayor sold himself out.
I plan to relocate after I graduate :D
Public transport sucks and very expensive.
Weather it is currently SNOWING right now in my hometown smh :(

my whole country, the statistics shows that 46% of the population are racist. But you would love our secretary of state, he does damn good job. We got a lot of mountains and fjords. which are beautiful. If you did visit on the winter you would experience that almost every1 here love either watching winter sports or attend themselves. It makes it more funnier when we have the world best man and woman at cross country-skiing. You would hate the high prices, on everything. If you were gonna move here you would need to pay huge amount of taxes 40% of your income + other bills. Soccer are also a really popular sport here so its hard to find someone that doesn't cheer for a team. And if you like military, this would be a dream we have the best and most experienced "snow troopers". and special force.
And with the language, you would get far with just English but like in any other country that don't have English as main language you would find someone that speaks really bad or can't speak at all.
I am just talking about my country cause its nothing special about the place I live. really boring. gonna move to USA soon I hope. cause I am really tired of this place

Pro:

-lots of shops
-tons of bars, pubs, restaurants, and a couple of clubs
-big river with cool hangout spots including a beach part
-very central (good public transportation to all big cities. lies between zürich and bern)
Con:
just to make this clear, I'm NOT a racist. but the (illegal) immigrant percentage is growing like hell...and many immigrants turn into criminals (examples: stealing, drug dealing, extreme violence in groups leading to death, breaking into houses, etc.). I'm not saying that all of them are like that...this seems to be one of the main problems which most countries in Europe share.
other than that it's very nice here :-)
Originally I come of Colchester, England it's OK it's lively, there's shops, restaurants, cinema, lesuire world, skating park, zoo, and the roman castle surrounded by a huge park! But like most of England there are chavs and most people look miserable if the weather's not great!
But now I live in the Alps in France and during the winter season and the summer season it's brilliant! ski allday when I've got a day off and loads of restaurants and I'm surrounded by the beautiful mountains!

Portland, Oregon
Pros: No sales tax, friendly people, drivers are not aggressive, very scenic and beautiful, the majority of trees are green all year round, most people are approachable in the entire state, you don't have to remain in Portland to find something to do as there's lots of events and festivals in lots of the smaller towns and lots of outdoor recreation. They don't salt the streets in the winter time. Having facial hair is the norm, Voodoo donuts, Ski resorts, micro breweries everywhere, wine country. No traffic stops.
Cons: High income tax, portland has weather crappy most of the year (but outside of portland is better), it rains a lot, hipster douche bags everywhere, Slow speed limits, corrupt politicians, winters are too mild (especially in the Willamette valley), against the law to pump your own gas,
I live in Kansas.
I have actually moved around a lot since I finished high school. I spent a few years when I was younger living in the same p0lace I do now and hated it. Then, I moved away to the place I really wanted to go and realized that I was better off before.
Pros
+lots of friends to hang out with
+good job where I make a decent amount of money
+I go to school here and will probably graduate in the next year and a half

-There isn't much to do in the area of social events that doesn't involve drinking.
-The cost of living here is actually pretty high compared to the rest of the state.
-Eventually, most people graduate and move away, meaning you have to constantly be making new friends just to have people to hang out with a year from now.

the food- not the flavor fulled latin American you would expect. it's bland, boring, and filled with bread and hotdogs
every Thursday there are riots of college students protesting the cost of education, so leave 20 min earlier for work and bring something to sheild your eyes from tear gas
not to be shallow, but people are not that attractive

people don't speak English at all. (pro) if you speak spanish already you can navigate the city and still make of people out loud for thinking mullets and one dreadlock looks cool. (con) you are sh*t out of luck if you don't speak spanish

Likes: Tons of culture, many interesting neighborhoods, good nightlife, sports teams and concerts, fairly low crime, relatively clean, people are mostly friendly.
Dislikes: Current Mayor, small size of mass transit system, homelessness, lack of bike lanes.
well, I guess they would like how friendly we are down here but they might dislike how very few stores we have. We don't even have a real mall and the closest city is 3 to 4 hours away if they want to shop. depending on where they're from they might dislike how hot it is down here. However, what my town lacks in buisness and industry it makes up for in friendliness and hard work since everyone down here is hardworking and determined to make a living.
Moital - Bajouca (Portugal).
Pros: silent, no pollution, barely any car in the streets, rural looking, calm...
Cons: Only a few commercial places, barely no young people, no public transportation, feels way too lonely, a bit far from good places, etc...
But I like the fact that I can sleep in the middle of the road

likes: best bands come from Manchester such as the smiths. Great football. 3 universities so lots of young women haha.
dislikes: to many pakis, there's a place in longsight that recruits terrorists. How northern girl's say HIYA in that accent is rather unpleasant.
I'm in Texas and think people would like my area.There's malls nearby(including one in town),in town we have a skating rink,bowling alley,go-kart racing,main event,a lake,etc.
Oh and we also have a park designed for skateboarders and the like:)

Cons:
Winters can be rough and long. Certain areas are VERY unsafe.
