Why do women find musicians so sexy?

Question

Yeah it seems that most if not all women go wild for musicians.  Is it just because they are coveted by other women or does it have to do with how talented they are with playing their instruments or something else?  I don't get it...please explain.

Allow to shed some light on the situation: I am a male who who has a very extensive musical knowledge and rather open minded. (before the knowledge police start kicking up a fuss) this is a theory no solid evidence.
The brain has a rhythmic pattern, everything does to a certain extent. What if say the notes of certain well known songs have that same rhythmic pattern and therefore appeals your interest? No what say there is a guy out there for girls that can give that to them any-time with ease and with skill. It all leads to one underlying fact. Emotion, Music is the closest thing to emotion that we understand so therefore by a male "opening up" in a sense that isn't in the norm then that would possibly make them attractive to the opposite sex of course there's the physical perks ;) (you all forgot one its keeping a good rhythm as well as skills with hands and the rest of the body lol) but yeah there's my perception of it based on knowing music and its a form of showing the world that they are not alone and a universal language that everyone can read.

It's just a myth, really. Or at least it probably only applies to rock musicians. I've been singing and playing with some of the foremost reggae, jazz, and funk bands on the east coast for half my life, and have never been approached by a woman at a gig for anything other than an autograph. Of the dozens of bands I've worked with, regardless of their notoriety or lack thereof, I have never seen this alleged phenomenon of women "throwing themselves" at any musicians. Ironically, I actually found this post after doing a Google search for "why women don't like musicians". I've had records in the top 5 on the Billboard charts and headlined in many sold-out venues... you can have hundreds of girls singing along with your every word, but when the music is over you will generally load out your gear silently and drive home alone. The only two musicians I've ever worked with who had women flocking to them were, incidentally, the least talented guys in their respective bands- so it has nothing to do with talent.

I have always loved music, I relate to music with how I feel and to express my inner emotions and feelings. I love to write poetry, and I find music to be calming and inspirational. I absolutely love guys who can sing and play an instrument. I love it because obviously they have talent, skill, but because they also express their emotions, thoughts, and feelings through music that they create. I find that it connects me with them. I sound like a total hippy and spiritual but it really does have that effect on me.

I instantly melt not only because his voice is extremely beautiful, but the way he sings it makes the meaning shine through and I get completely touched by it. I am a total sucker for guys who can play instruments like the guitar, piano, violin, and the flute. It is a total bonus if he can sing amazingly.

Honestly I'm not really into the artistic types. It's awesome that they can create so many intricate sounds/songs but sometimes they have this superior vibe happening that's a turn off to me, personally. It makes me want to be like um, there are millions of other people in the world who can play the same exact instruments as you and quite a few can play it as good if not better than u. You and your band just lucked out by getting a talent scout's attention. Its not a unique enough ability to have these days, in my opinion. Kudos tho for them if they make it mainstream or even just getting gigs. Everyone likes being considered talented.

Generally, I wouldn't say I'm into musicians- never dated one or even had a thing for one. But, I can see why they might be attactive. Music is an art form, a way to express your point of view of the world and if it's an apt description that really resonates, well, then you tend to feel connected to that person. (Even though the odds of a lot of muscians having written their own stuff these days are not exactly high lol). Me- I appreciate awesome lyrics or really well written music without losing my head over the artist. We all have things that just draw us in, but musicians aren't one of them for me...

Well, musicians tend to be in the spotlight, which is something many women find attractive. Furthermore it does indicate a certain discipline and passion.

I was at a New Years party many years ago before I got married. The host had this beautiful Baldwin concert grand piano with the richest bass I've ever heard. I'm not much of a social magnet, but I sat down and started playing. Women materialized around the piano and one sat down next to me and started flirting. I wish every party I went to had a piano.

- you need big hands to do that and big hands are kind of sexy
- girls love music
- (for some of them) it means they're educated in some way

Also, as a musician I know how much time, work and effort goes into perfecting your craft and I admire people who work hard to get what they want and I like seeing them reap the benefits of thei many 10,000hrs of hard work.

Musicians are expressing art and their emotions through the vibrations of sound that they create. Subconsciously I think that is why many women are into musicians. In the same respect I am attracted to some female musicians because their creative talent along with their looks, like PJ Harvey and Theresa Wayman.

They don't generally interest me, but once I hear them play, as well as sing, and if they have talent, then I don't know what it is myself that makes me so attracted to them.

I think it has to do something with the amount of confidence. If someone has enough confidence to perform anything on a stage like musicians do, then they become more attractive to me. Also, talent is attractive.

At least I am not..I tend to go for guitar players or guys who are in a band it's kind of attractive because if they're good enough they have this promising future and you imagine yourself wanting to be with the every step of the way but it's mostly because we want to be serenaded by them like come on imagine your bf serenading you with a song he wrote for you and playing it for you.

You know, they travel around and see a lot, so they probably have more to tell you about their life then someone who has never left town and has always had the same job in the same building with the same people
