It depends on what you consider to be the truth.
If you look at this from a positive light, well, his feelings that were "hidden" before he got drunk could easily surface after some alcohol reaches the bloodstream. And that could possibly "reveal the truth".
If you look at it from a negative light, well, his inhibitions might be gone for the moment, leading him to show emotion and affection, but when he is sober, he could say it was a mistake, and that he was drunk, and that there is nothing between him and the girl. And that could be interpreted as a "false positive" that alcohol creates.
So yeah, it could work both ways. It depends on what the guy considers as truth: His thoughts before drinking, or after.

I somewhat agree I've said some true feelings while drunk but then again once I called an ex while I was drunk and said I loved him still,we met up the next day and I realized it was just the alcohol, because I really didn't feel the same still lol..felt so bad !

Generally, yes. Inhibitions are released and people are more open about things they would not normally discuss. The bad part is that they may not express themselves well due to the alcohol, so they can be easily misunderstood.
Well not always, when I am drunk there is an automatic pilot that takes me straight into my own bed without anyone noticing, even I don't notice.
my friends know this very well and no one ever did notice. Not even meNot necessarily their "true feelings" but they have less inhibitions, they're more careless.
Drunk words = sober thoughts.
