Does alcohol reveal true thoughts/feelings?

When your at a party, sometimes drunk people say or do things that are probably not what we would call "wise" decisions. We've all heard the stories about how "they got drunk and she got pregnant."

Or sometimes the drunk people simply say things that they normally wouldn't. The alcohol pretty much destroys a persons ability to judge rationally and think things through. But does alcohol cause a person to show their true feelings? Do you think a person is more prone to reveal their desires, thoughts, etc when they are intoxicated? You would have to ask yourself, does alcohol cause people to lie as well?

What if a person confessed their love to you while they were drunk? Would you still believe them in the morning?

A lot of times yes. I got blackout drunk at this party I had at my apartment a few years back and lost about 5 friends that night. Told everyone off in front of everyone else. Later when I was told what I said, it was all true stuff I thought that I just didn't say before.

Alcohol removes inhibitions, the kind of inhibitions that make us lie to preserve relationships by not hurting people's feelings. Take those safeguards away and the truth comes out. Most people want to let the world know how they feel, to express themselves. Alcohol just makes it a lot easier to do that, for better or worse.

You have to be careful though about that love confessions thing. Yeah, it can be genuine, but it also makes people overly dramatic. They might like you and appreciate you in their life and then think they're realizing they're in love with you.

No. It makes people exaggerate their feelings. For instance, someone you just met is suddenly "my best friend in the world." A 3 a.m. taco that someone sat on in the backseat is suddenly the "best meal I've ever had." Sometimes you don't even know what the heck you think or feel, you just ramble and wander around. Don't believe drunk words or actions.

for some people it does that, for others it doens't. different people act differently while drunk.

for example, for me. I don't tell the truth exaclty, but I am more bold and I speak my mind more than I normally would

A drunk man's words are a sober man's thoughts. There must be some truth to that statement. Alcohol lowers inhibitions.
