Why do people keep saying, "You're a great person" to me? What do they mean?

for some reason, when I had people sign my yearbook, aka express there feelings towards me...a few people wrote this, "you are [truly] a great person (girl)." isn't it funny how they all sorta said the same thing?

does that mean they find me as someone they can trust?

in addition I'm a sensitive person...maybe its because of my sensitiveness that they were able to see me as a great person? ...someone told me I'm a good convo starter. that made my day :).

Does that mean they think I'm a sweet person?

sometimes I think that being a good person sounds like I'm fragile and weak..and even vulnerable. that its also a bad thing. and at times I don't like how people forsee me this way. it just doesn't make me look strong. Well I'm not. I'm strong headed. but not as strong willed and courageous as others.

because of my naiveness, sensitiveness, etc.

and not everyone gets told this...so don't say they think your a great person because your a great person -__-

'You are a great person' is a term generally used when someone wants to say something about you but are unsure of how or what to describe it in words. However, they know and / or have experienced and / or noticed something with you that has made them feel good at some point of time.

At times it can also mean apologetically 'not wanting to hurt you but can't be around you , sorry' kind of stuff.

The former is for your kind of a situation where it's in general where everyone thinks you are an adorable person that you touch their heart and the latter is for an individual one off case when it happens which is not the case with you.

hmmm you are obviously concerned about the latter.

Ok, rephrasing. In your case you get this comment all the time so the 'latter' is not for you.

In the 'latter' there is this one or two specific person/people who have interacted with you in some way or the other & then realized that they need to move on which is when they say that for acknowledging your goodness & to tell you that it's not you at fault but they can't stay on or hang around or be in a relationship.

they don't only write it..but say it in some form
