Why are there no morals or respect anymore?

because some are hard to punish by law and some people don't nip it in the bud.

a small example is at work, I have these ladies I supervise at work but some times neglect to do their work or just stand around while others do the work, but I do my job by putting my foot down and instigating rules.

some children grow up and hav eno morals, why? part of it is because of parents neglecting to DISCIPLINE their own offspring.

or even when I go grocery shopping and someone bumps me with their cart with out apologizing, I usually assume it's their lack of a good upbringing or mother/ father neglecting to teach them any consideration

There is a very apparent moral decay. There are so many technologies and things set up in society that allow us to feign responsibility for our actions. So now we don't have to suffer the consequences for our actions. Cognitive dissonance is another cause. People's beliefs have to be congruent with their actions. No one wants to ever admit to their wrong-doings.

They go hand in hand. If you have questionable morals, you disrespect yourself. No one will respect you if you do not respect yourself.

It is not necessarily true in the reverse, however. Many people with fine morals do not respect themselves.

There are, this is an example of a psychological phenomenon where everyone thinks the world is going to sh*t, it's an incredibly common belief, and there isn't much to back it up except for looking at the past and pointing out differences that are positive and forgetting all the negatives of the past. It's a bit like talking about how music sucks now because all the music that is old and we still listen to were all hits, because all the sucky music was forgotten.

Because it doesn't get you anywhere anymore. Same reason there so many girls now complain "where are the nice guys?" and guys complain "where are the girls who aren't slutty?" Because in today's society, nice guys finish last, all that. Breaking the rules is usually ideal, and gets you farther, everywhere.

Sometimes I ask myself this exact same question. But the truth is, it still exists out there. It is hard to find, but it exists. Just keep holding on until you meet someone who actually has morals and treats others with respect.

And respect needs to be earned - and there's a shortage of people in todays world willing to earn the respect of others.
