We fell asleep holding hands. What does this mean?

Does it mean much to a man?

He has some abandonment issues and tends to keep major distance from me.

But when we slept together last night, he held me all night and to my surprise, woke up still holding hands. I had to take his hand off because it was pretty tight and it was a bit sweaty haha

Could it be a simple habit for him or was it something more?

It shows he is affectionate. anytime a guy touches you in your sleep doesn't necessarily mean he wants to have sex, he is making sure that you are still there with him. and honestly I think its adorable. For a guy who is handing hands, grabbing your thigh or wrapping his arms around you while you're sleep is a good thing to happen. If you are sleeping in the same bed with a person you like or care for, it shouldn't matter what the situation is. obviously he enjoys you enough to have sleepovers.
