+1 yI have done this a couple of times.
Once was while visiting a church that I use to go to years before and the church had been remodeled and the ladies room had been expanded and the men's room moved. I noticed my mistake almost instantly because the wall paper was pink and I made a quick exit before anyone saw me. Luckily I was very early and the church was almost empty.
My second time was much more dramatic. I was on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, and having lunch when I had a bathroom "emergency". I asked directions to the men's room and made a fast dash. The doorway lead to BOTH bathrooms and both of the doors were propped open, and the Gender Indicators were on the door (not shown when it was open).. I was in the stall and feeling very relieved when I realized the voices in the other stalls were female. I had a difficult choice.. how to make a fast exit and not get arrested. I waited until I thought the room was empty, but I was wrong. There was a lady at the sink as I dashed out. She looked up but was not sure what she saw, (my hair was to my shoulders at that time). I went straight into the men's room to wash my hands... the men's entrance was more obvious once I was making an exit than it was while making an entrance.
Once in New Orleans during Mardi Gras a couple of ladies came into the men's room because the ladies line was 30 minutes long. The men were OK with them being in there, they only used the stall with the door closed of course. But the cops did not think it was OK, and the girls were arrested. I really felt sorry for them, because the cops were being DICKS. I don't know the outcome, maybe they just let them go after they got them to the mall office... but it was some drama.

+1 yNever WALKED into the wrong bathroom by accident no, but I've been in a girl's bathroom. First time I did I was working at the library and just picking up books left there (yes, we have THOSE kinds of inconsiderate customers).
Part of me always thought the woman's bathroom would be like, this amazing frolicking land of rainbows and candy.
Like some Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory or some sh*t.01 Reply
+1 yNo, I cannot say that I have, or that I can remember ever doing such thing. I do remember one time when a guy thought a girls bathroom was a genderless bathroom. He walked in like it was the most common thing in the world. On the door it said Ladies room. We cannot put all the blame on him though, because the men's room were a little hidden.. But it was a very awkward experience.

+1 yA couple of times just because I was not paying attention. I just leave, slightly embarrassed. Just yesterday I followed my boyfriend right into the washroom while talking to him. He just interrupted me and said "hey you know you're inside the men's room, right?" lol

There wasn't anyone else in there either. No he wasn't peeing yet, he told me only a second after we walked in there. Not that I would be seeing anything I haven't seen before, though, if he was. He pees with the door open at home, soooo... yeah, lol.

+1 yyeah, I did. I even took a whole dump in a girls bathroom once.
this happened at my school. there are two sets of mens and womens bathrooms on each floor, but their doors are switched next to each other. on one side of the floor its Men then Women, but on the other side of the floor is Women and Men. so I lost track of that because I was desperate and didn't even realize it until I was on the toilet.
when I was on the toilet I noticed a girlie grunt coming from one of the stalls next to me, and I though it was weird. I peeked up and noticed the urinals was missing. then I found out I was in the wrong bathroom.
fortunately, I snuck out before anyone seen me or noticed...01 Reply
+1 yNo! :p I check because I am really scared I might one day.
I was walking into my schools bathroom after class and when I stepped inside I though I saw a dude leaning against the wall in the corner of my eye so...I backed out
Then I look up and it says Girls...
I walk back in and as I go to step into the stall I look and It is the most masculine lesbian I had ever seen in my life. She scarred the crap out of me
I was so embarrassed.30 Reply
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yI walked in the wrong restroom once, and walked in on someone another time.
When I was on a date in high school, I walked into the wrong restroom at a movie theater. I took a look around (one girl was in there as far as I saw), said "Oh, crap, sorry" and walked out.
The other time was at my office. We had men's and women's rooms on both floors, however, there was a unisex bathroom on the upper floor. It had one toilet, a sink and a shower. One day I opened the door and a female coworker was sitting there on the hopper. It was a small office, and she was about 22 at the time. She had forgotten to lock the door. I said sorry and turned around to walk away. She shut the door from her position. It was never mentioned again.00 Reply- 3.2K opinions shared on Other topic.
+1 yOh I have but it wasn't by mistake. I went out to this bar with a few other friends & as much as I hate using public washrooms, I didn't have a choice. The females washroom was a nightmare. So I casually strolled into the mens & got in the stall. It was nicer in there. When I got out, I played it like I made a mistake.
11 Reply My parents used to take my family to this old baptist church when I was little... like, farmers, women cover their heads in church, pastor preached on father's day, "I pity beautiful women." One of the men's rooms, near the cafeteria, didn't even have doors on the stalls.

+1 yYes, I've done it once, but then noticed there weren't any urinals and realized where I was and walked out before anyone noticed.

+1 yYeah, but if I ever do it, it's because the line at the girls bathroom is too long and I reeealllyy have to go. If I see a guy peeing I'd say: "sorry to interrupt" and look away, go pee, wash my hands and leave.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yOnly once, I followed a guy friend of mine right into the bathroom without even realizing where he was going, we had been walking around all day together so I was just following. Then I realized and left, felt dorky. No there were no guys in there.
I think the only guys of walked in on were like my brother who for some reason never locked the door.
I don't do anything except turn around and leave.01 Replyive had a guy walk into the girls bathroom while I was in it...i was washing my hands and I looked up he saw me looked at me, looked at the door, looked back at me and said sorry then shut the door lol it was funny but I'm sure he was embarrassed!
01 ReplyTwice I was in 6 years old both times...first time I walked in on my dad peeing I saw everything, but wasn't scarred for life. Second time I did it at school and no one was there.

+1 yAll the time. I usually make a loud exclamation, apologize, and then leave - making it a hundred times more awkward than it needed to be.

+1 yIf the bathrooms have individual doors, I have no reservation going for the door with a Scotsman on it - just aim well and put the toilet seat back down.
00 Reply Yes this has happened to me before and I said I was sorry and got out of there really fast and covered my face in shame. LOL
