Do you have the same conversations over and over?

Anonymous
For most people, there are a select few others that they see or talk to all the time; parents, siblings, friends, extended family members, significant others, children, etc.

I noticed today, while Christmas shopping with my mother, that she basically has the exact same conversations EVERY time we talk (and we talk all the time, she's a nagger). She says the same things every time we talk about God, her childhood, her family, what I *should* be doing, etc.

I also have friends who tend to have the same conversations with me over and over again, saying the same things about women, movies, life, religion, politics, etc.

Do you notice this in your life? Do you notice that some people always repeat previous conversations you'd had? Do you get annoyed by this? Do you do this? Do you find yourself telling someone the same stories over and over?

What do you think? Does it mean people have run out of things to say to each other? Or maybe a reiteration type of thing, justifying behavior, that sort of thing.

How do you prevent this, or is that even possible? What's your reaction?

Just a side note: No, I don't live with my parents, haha! I support myself; me and my dog :-)
