Can over-exfoliation of the face with exfoliating gloves cause small bumps on the skin?

Is it possible for this to happen on quite sensitive skin? Do you think this could be a possible cause?

Yes, over ex foliation of skin can cause irritation and inflammation. This can lead to bumpy skin. The best way to combat this is to find a cleanser that isn't too rough for your skin. Everyone is different, so it's best to try a variety of products.

Combine ex foliation with moisturisers to restore the moisture back to your skin. Try to only ex-foliate once a day. Doing it more will cause irritation. Same with even washing, over washing your skin can irritate it and cause damage.

Harsh make-up can also cause bumps and inflammation of the skin.

If your skin is sensitive already then you might have to find products that are specially suited to your skin. I find that even some moisturisers that have perfume can irritate my skin. So try to find products that are hypo-allergenic and gentle. Most brands have sensitive versions of their products.

I use olay and I use their sensitive products, I also use the regular moisturiser without perfume. I find it helps. Using a whole series of products to create a skin routine is probably best.

Over exfoliation can cause many, many problems

It can irritate skin, causing redness, puffiness, little tears within the skin, enlarged pores, dry skin which then over produces sebum to make up for the dryness making it then oily, premature aging or scarring(if too harsh).

Over exfoliation is never a good thing, sensitive skin or not.

For people who have sensitive skin it is best not to exfoliate.

I never exfoliate with a scrubby thing.

Yea and cause irritation don't exfoilate more than once a week
