What does it mean if a guy shows you his vulnerable side?

Ok so he recently started a new job, and I asked him how he was settling in etc. And he admits things like, he is finding it hard settling in and he's just trying to find his own two feet. He also tells me stuff like how they have given him a reduced work load to start off with to help him settle in but he is finding it quite difficult to establish himself. He also tells me about his work hours, for example there's one day where he works really long hours, he was telling me about how he finds that difficult sometimes.

Also he admits when he's had a bad weekend, I asked him once and he admited it hadn't been great and just things like that he tells me.

Does it mean anything or not?

it means he trusts you and is comfortable around you. It doesn't necessarily mean he likes you like that but it could mean he does. To crack most guys tough exterior so they feel comfortable confiding you is a big thing. does he give you any other signals about how he feels about you? Like signals that would allow you to differentiate friend from romantic interest?

Does he touch you, smile a lot, compliment you?

Thanks for your answer. Well I'm not entirely sure if these count as signs really but he speaks very softly to me compared to when he speaks to other people (girls in particular). When he says goodbye he always adds take care of yourself now won't you onto the end and he never says that to any other girl. He smiles a lot and occasionaly we have touched hands and he's kept his hand where it is.

Also he often jokes with me and again he has this wave that he does when he says goodbye which he doesn't do with anyone else. But I'm not really sure these are big enough signs to indicate that he likes me as more than a friend?

they do sound like signs. not concrete ones but certainly signs. smiles, physical contact, and as you mentioned things he specifically does with you that he doesn't do with others is significant. Obviously he does put you on a different level than other girls, I think that is a good sign

It means that he trusts you. Also, since he's having a pretty rough time at work, talking about it probably makes it less stressful. It doesn't necessarily mean that he's interested in you though, if that's what you were wondering. It simply means that he trusts you, possibly only as a friend.
