What's the difference between a Dwarf, a Halfling, and a Gnome?

They all seem very similar. what are the big differences between them you think?

I'll answer this to he best of my abilities

Dwarf: A person with dwarfism so in other words really really short people and it's a medical condition.

Halfling: A hobbit. Watch Lord of the rings to get a idea of hobbits and what they do and look like. There's often swords involved at some point.

Gnome: A creepy decoration placed in your front yard to entertain others or most commonly a decor item used in the Sims 1, 2 or 3 game. It carries various meanings in the game but it can be agreed that most gnomes are evil. Or at least the ones in the Sims.

The only common ground here between them all is that they are all shorter than most human beings and the biggest difference is that only people with dwarfism are real. Although some may agree that the halfling or hobbit still very much exists... in our dreams.
