Betty Boop, American Icon or a pure slut?

Question

My dad thinks she's an American icon

and my mom thinks she's a slut lol.

Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse those are

American Icons. At least in cartoon

world anyway. Betty Boop, not so

much.

So, what do you think?

I've never thought about this before, but I suppose it's fair to say she's a bit of both.  There's no question she's an iconic piece of American pop culture, but she's nowhere near as iconic as Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny.  Since she's a fictional character with no real emotions, one could argue that she's incapable of being a slut.  However, depictions of her as a hypersexual symbol could label her a sluttish character.  I suppose one could argue that she's a bit of both, and she's not alone in that category.  Marilyn Monroe was an icon and a "slut," and the same could be said of Lucille Ball (who became famous as a pin-up girl, not as a comedienne or actress.)

People were more honest back in those days.  They accepted that a slut is an Amerian icon. Now, you get speeches from feminists when you suggest this is the case

Did she ever actually do anything? I don't see how she's a slut. I mean she wore lots of makeup and a short dress but that's it.

As far as the question I think that she's an icon who uses her sex appeal to be so similar to Jessica Rabbit

I think she's an American icon also I feel like she's not a slut because she never went around sleeping with random dudes most of the time she's just working are hanging around at the club. Now Jessica Rabbit now that's a slut.

Well, even if she's a slut, that doesn't mean she's not iconic. I guess she's an icon.  Idk.  Everyone knows who she is, so I guess that counts.
